The AC inverter itself uses energy to run. Then you have the inefficiency of converting DC energy of the battery to AC energy for the inverter to output. Then you're converting AC energy back to DC energy with an adapter for your laptop. If you have a cheap adapter that does not have Power Factor Correction (PFC) then a lot of the AC energy is lost to heat in the conversion to DC.

The combined efficiency of using an AC adapter with the portable power station may approach 50% at worst; as opposed to 80-90% or so with USB-C. Even the car socket is limited to 100W so using a 90% efficient DC to DC converter is precarious as a laptop may overload it.

50% conversion rate on modern Ecoflow units is just nonsense and at this point you're just making stuff up to avoid looking silly with the whole "you can't use it because of the 60w limitation."

You can also still use your laptop through usb-c and it will simply discharge at a slower rate. I don't have the time to run some numbers, but this Ecoflow unit will either get fully discharged or will be close to it in the time it takes to run down a fully charged laptop at 60w.

The River 2 Pro has a proper 100W USB-C port. I would buy it at Costco for $400 where it can be returned no questions asked. The Amazon listing does not allow returns, say "Non-returnable due to hazmat safety reasons", which is BS.

also very important - its a bidirectional port, IN and OUT, it can NOT charge power brick via USB-C, instead it will discharge it. Not sure how it works with laptops.

I've tried to cancel the 2 items right after placing the order and it adjusted ecoflow back to $169 without the discount. Not sure if return works but I've placed my 2nd order. Anyone else?

How exactly do you add both the cable and the light? I added the River 2, the cable and the light all separately, and I'm only getting the light for free, bringing the pre-tax total to $195. Seems like the light is being added for free but not the cable. And I don't see an option to "add both to cart" under promotions. There's only a "Shop Items" option.

Edit: Nevermind. For other people having this issue, just go on the Amazon mobile app. On a desktop on Chrome, the "Add both to cart" option is not available.
