Go with Samsung 990 Pro if you intend to encrypt your drive with Windows BitLocker as it supports hardware encryption, SN850X does not:

Samsung just had the 4tb 990 pro for $199 w/EPP and even lower with chase 20% cashback applied.

Yes.

I think you will need to put an additional heatsink on top.

2TB is $150+. I paid $160 earlier this year. I guess $150 is the new "BF" low.
You got a 4tb for 160?

Nextorage has a 4TB w/heatsink on Newegg for $199.99 as of posting this. I just got mine recently but waiting for my rtx card to arrive Monday to start assembly and it seems fine.

Glad I waited and didn't bite on the 4TB 990 Pro. I have 3x 2TB SN850X drives and didn't want an extra piece of software to manage a single Samsung drive. Thanks for the heads up!

990 Pro supports hardware encryption unlike SN850X. That might matter to some. I don't use the WD dashboard much, I just check for firmware updates every couple months.

No, not even close, but this is a good price for a top performer (pcie gen4). Lowest price ever on Amazon (thus far).

You only want this drive if you want max performance AND 4tb size. There are several competitors in this space like Samsung Pro 990, Lexar NM790, Adata, Teamgroup, Acer, that might be lower.

Plenty of other 4tb NVMe Gen3/Gen4 drives for less but also less performance. I look at the endurance (TBW) and warranty as well.
