The Motorola website shows it has 71 for both lte and 5g.
Thanks, other sites omitted that.

How's the camera?
Cnet says the cameras.are good, especially in lots of light. The night photography is significantly behind the competition though.

Should be perfectly fine to snap pictures of normal situations during the day.

I compared this with Moto G Stylus 5G 2023 and this is way snappier.

Would only have 3 updates to Android 14,15,16 in contrast to
4 updates of the OnePlus 11 and 7 updates of the all Google Pixel 8.

Another 2023 phone that is also using the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 is the Nothing Phone 2
which would also have 3 updates for $160 more.
I would easily pick ThinkPhone over Nothing Phone 2.

Both the OnePlus 11 (Snapdragon 8 Gen 2) and Pixel 8 (non-Pro with Tensor G3) 128GB options are only $150 more and they seem like a better deal than Nothing Phone 2.
Add another $50+ for 256GB.

The Google Pixel 8 cameras tested better than the OnePlus 11 even with 2X Telephoto.
If you mainly do photos and videos i.e. Instagram models, they might be the better option.

Therefore a $400 Thinkphone seems just reasonable.

I have this phone and have been using it daily for about a month now. I love this phone and I was using a pixel 7 pro before it. The thinkphone is very fast, runs material you just like the pixels do with some added options, no bloatware and it has call screen with the Google phone app. The ready for desktop mode works extremely well and is also very smooth. The battery life on this thing is outstanding which I average over 6 hours SOT. The back is real aramid fiber, not just some cheap skin or covering and included in the box is a charger (68 watt) the cable and a case.

No....90 percent of phones have abandoned that

"Your phone supports an optional microSD card up to 1 TB.

A Class 2, 4, or 6 card is sufficient"

While it's true that 90% of makers have abandoned external storage, it's one of the big reasons that I have bought Motorola for my last 5 phones

I stand corrected had no clue any company was still making flagships with SD card support. Thanks

Hey I found that in one spot but I just found another spec list that says no SD. It might vary by exact version, I'm gonna be pissed if they phase it out

Does the US version include the phone case?

I have an S21+ that I really like... especially the camera, and it's "like-new". But I can get a full refund on my purchase of it ($420)

So I'm on the fence whether this would be a worthwhile upgrade (going through the return and new phone set up hassles and if the camera would be as good as the S21+) since it would be essentially at no cost. Opinions?

Hard to say without knowing your priorities. I can say the camera will be a noticable downgrade. This being a business-oriented phone means it's serviceable, but not anything standout.

Not having ever had a ThinkPhone, I'm not sure myself. But all signs point to there being no micro SD card slot in U.S. versions. There is no mention of a micro SD card slot in the specs on our U.S. Motorola site, and a couple of U.S. reviews I've read specifically say it has no micro SD card support. Like this Wired review [wired.com] highlighting "no microSD card slot" as a Con at the top.

Because of the odd way that slickdeals on the PC now collapses responses to comments by default (essentially burying your response), you might consider editing your responses about it definitely having a micro sd card slot, so that others won't be misled. Not that it's your mistake, it's Motorola's mistake for lumping together instructions for all variants and wording it like you quoted.
