I bought a couple of these monitors in the last sale a month ago, and ended up returning them. I was kind of on the fence. It's a decent enough monitor. The negatives to me:
- At only 300 nits, it's dimmer than my 6-7-8 year old 27" LG IPS 4K monitors. That was a bit disappointing.
- No HDR support in 2023. Not even HDR10. (Sadly, LG won't support HDR10+ because it was invented by Samsung / Panasonic, even though they give it away free to whomever wants to support it.)
- No Display Port (most people won't care about this)

If you can live with those compromises, it's a beautiful, nicely designed monitor with a good stand.

LG does has an older model, the 43UN700T, that goes on sale for roughly the same price regularly. That model supports HDR10 and goes up to 400 nits.

Interesting. Might be good for iOS and the Apple ecosystem. It does many things that a smart TV can do.

Amazon also has the Samsung M70B 43" on sale for $10 more but I'm thinking this would be better as a PC monitor due to IPS and RGB subpixel layout. The stand appears like it might be more substantial compared to the M70B. Thoughts?

Question: how much does HDR actually matter on a (gaming) monitor? I presume display tech may make a difference but on my OLED TV for instance I'm never really impressed by it and have it tuned to counter act a lot of the (in my opinion) unnecessary dimming.

You ask me if it ain't too big? Nah my next one will be 48inch oled because of 4k resolution and distance btw you and monitor will make no issue with size

It's basically a smart TV with a USB hub built-in that might share the Ethernet port (I use viewsonic monitors that do) but I can't find info on that. But it doesn't have a tuner for over the air digital TV, which I don't think many people watch. It surprisingly doesn't seem to have VESA mount options. The refresh rate tops out at 60hz.

I'm using a 43" Insignia 2160 display smart tv as a monitor and at $150 it displays all my games very well, including FS 2020 at high settings.
