Gran Turismo 7 is one of the top few titles in terms of immersion and taking advantage of what the hardware has to offer.

I'm considering jumping into VR. how does playstation' implementation compare to steam and other VR sets?
Just buy a METAQUEST 3 if you don't already have a PS5......and also if you do own one. Most of the games on PSVR2 are avaiable for oculus/metaquest/etc.

I'd say find a refurbed/used rev 2 of the original PSVR for cheap is a better use of your money if you want to try Playstation VR. Not only does Original PSVR have waaaaaaay more actual physical games available used for dirt cheap (PSVR2 unforgiveably has like 1 physical title that i can recall) , the exclusive library of Original PSVR titles is way more vast and most have not been brought over to PSVR2.

Having used both... Hard to agree with going the PSVR1 route. PSVR2 has blown me away so far. Single cord on PSVR2 -vs- PSVR1 octopus cords and camera. Its not even close. Sense controllers are great also. No regrets - but I also got it for $100 off from Dell (deal now dead). IMO - go PSVR2 - but wait for another $100 off deal or price cut.

I think the Quest 3 is a great device also. Would be a great purchase also. Never tried it.

So far I really liked Gran Turismo 7 and Resident Evil 8, must play for VR2. A racing wheel is almost a must for a real immersive experience for GT7. I got the Logitech G923, and that will probably be on sale for Black Friday, but it really feels like you are on the track, it feels amazing. I have to move my set up to my backroom b/c my living room is now blocked from baby fences and toys so I can't wait to play it again. It actually saves me money b/c now I don't feel a need to buy all sorts of expensive cars and going to the track, I can race it in VR! I've been told the cars feel like they do in real life by folks who have them.

RE8 is also a full video game in VR, and it's done really well. The environment makes me feel like the original RE in Spencer Mansion, and seeing it in VR is amazing. The shooting is also really realistic and cool. One thing that people don't realize is you have to get your VR legs when you first use VR, b/c your brain isn't used to moving in VR space. Using a fan overhead to move air, and also stopping when you start to get nauseous all help. You build it up over time, let brain get used to VR space.

I also really like Creed, it's not on sale but it's a great workout, like a serious workout. I'll be sore for 2-3 days, especially when playing online. My gripe is you can't save in the single player game mode, so you get super sore and can't finish the game.

I thought Horizon Call of the Mountain was really boring, didn't like this game at all. The climbing mechanics are boring and there isn't much freedom in the game. The shooting arrows isn't very fun to me either. Story is non-existent. Graphics are nice, but gameplay is what kills it for me.

Anyone try Red Matter 2? That will be the next one I try.
Thanks for the heads up on Horizon. We loved the demo, and the original games, so thought we'd snag it. Might reconsider for the time being with all the other games we'll pick up.

Thanks OP! In for Arizona Sunshine, which I've never seen on sale. Now if only I could get a sale on WD Saints and Sinners, Wanderer, Tetris Effect, Robinson, and Beat Saber. I think I've got all the other top notch PSVR games.

For those on the fence, Squadrons is an unbelievable experience, especially on the PS5 using the PSVR and a HOTAS. Totally immersive. I am still working my way up to being able to play it without getting dizzy but it is truly magnificent.

My 2 cents for folks new to VR2 like me.

GT7 is a great beginner game that can ramp up in skill but super accessible and can play in non VR. It's also the only game that has caused me motion sickness on hilly tracks. I like because you can sit in chair and play with standard dual sense controller. Highly recommend.

Moss games are just beautiful and feels like you are dropped into a fantasy diorama. The 3D look is amazing and great fun game.

Walking Dead games are very immersive and the intro floating on a boat through a swamp was really cool.

I got Red Matter 2 and only played first 30 minutes and I heard 2 does not have a horror vibe like first one. Feels like walking in a different place. Gave me Prey/Bioshock vibes a bit.

I haven't tried my Resident Evil Evil games yet in VR.

After looking up some Arizona Sunshine reviews, I'm reconsidering. Anyone here played it with the AIM controller?

How is GT7 using the regular controller? Is the high level of immersion still there? Someone also mentioned getting motion sickness on hilly races. Do you notice if one can feel motion sickness differently using a controller vs steering wheel/racing chair setup? Also, is that last G923 price of $255 pretty much the price to wait on?

It depends on the person, some folks can do the regular controller, to me though it's just not realistic or immersive. You don't drive a car in real life using a controller, turning isn't realistic. So, it's in VR sure, and it's more immersive than a screen, but the ultimate immersion is with a steering wheel. The Fanatec would be most immersive, but the G923 is fine for me, I wasn't willing to spend a $1,300 for a real immersive setup with high torque. $255 would be a great price to get it at, I spent the full $400 on a G923 b/c I got psvr2 right when it came out and everyone was getting GT7 and a racing wheel.

I also spent $50 for the shifter, I really like the shifter addition since I used to drive a stick and missed it. I also got an Omega GT mount, and use my own chair, the mount of some kind is a must or else it won't work well.

I bought A Fisherman's Tale a few weeks ago and liked it a lot. It's short but very worth it for the price (I also paid $8 for the ps5 version). I bought Another Fisherman's Tale from this sale, also some people were disappointed with it.

Slightly off topic (not on sale), similar opinion for Paper Beast: liked it a lot, but short, but definitely worth the small fee upgrade from the psvr1 version that was free a while ago
Thanks, Will check out fisherman's tale. Only $3.74 for the ps4 / psvr1 version

Such horrible prices for dated games barely taking advantage of the tech.

If anyone ever tells you VR is dead, you have the software to thank for that.

Anyone know if resident evil 7 gold will work on the ps5 and also psvr 2?
It should work on PS5 with psvr1, but won't work on ps5 with psvr2 (i.e. you will be playing the ps4 version on ps5)

Got Moss and Moss 2 PS5 bundles for $19.99. Not sure why it's not showing when searching in the store on the PS5 but found it using web browser.

Of course I'm just a few hours late... deal is now expired, GT7 is showing as $69.99, Horizon $59.99.
