I am always tempted by these Uber one discounts, but I notice when I get Uber one I stop getting the good coupons for orders. And magically once my Uber one subscription expires they flood me with coupons.

Until u realize that we have been getting 40% off coupons once or twice a month for several years now, combined with gift cards deals and restaurants that don't mark up their prices, and it ends up being a slick deal. Plus great for the times where you actually use an Uber. I feel like it genuinely pays for itself

Uber Eats is a ripoff. Between the mark up on food and a bunch of made up charges, it's not worth it.

I have the Amex Platinum and I end up doing a pick up to redeem my monthly $15 credit. For $15, I get maybe $11/12 worth of food.

If I signed up this 90 days + $48 offer, could I cancel before the $48 start to charge? In case I don't use it later.
Yes. It says so you sign up that you can cancel up to 48 hours before the billing date in late February which means you have 88 days to cancel.

Is there a way to gift an Uber One membership to someone at this price?

Something similar happened to me 2 weeks ago. CS told me the promotion was deactivated due to breach of their terms. I wanted an explanation and the CS said "In easy words, the promotion was expired". Which was a lie.
Since then, no new promotions. I cancelled my membership yesterday.
Thank you ! Same exact thing happened to me about a month ago. Was getting consistent 40% off $25+ orders for a good year .. was really an awesome deal when combined with the UberOne subscription that itself was on a free trial/heavily subsidized price and the B1G1 offers on certain restaurants that help you meet the $25 threshold.

Then like you guys mentioned, sometime in October, I started not getting any of the weekly 40% coupons anymore, and the ones I did find were super regional and none of them even worked. I promptly cancelled my membership then...

Uber automatically put 3 use promotion in my Uber Eats profile almost every Monday (usually 40% or 50% off $25+ up to $15 off) and 2 use promotion in my Postmates almost every Friday (usually $15 off $40). No code necessary. The promotions appeared in my profile almost like clockwork (there was the occasional missed week or mediocre promotion that I skipped), I clicked claim, and I redeemed religiously. This went on for years.

This past October, an 8 use 45% off $25+ up to $15, including pick up, promotion automatically appeared in my Uber Eats profile with a 3 week expiration. This appeared along side the usual 3 use 50% off $25+ up to $15 off promotion in my Uber Eats and 2 use $15 off $40 promotion in my Postmates profiles on each of those 3 weeks for a total of 23 redemptions up to $15 per redemption over 3 weeks. Midway through using these, I received the error, "The promotion you picked couldn't be applied to your order" and the selected promotion vanished from my profile. The next week rolled around with new promotions and the same problem. I received the error, "The promotion you picked couldn't be applied to your order" and the new promotion vanished from my profile. Support was useless so I canceled Uber One and moved on with my life.

Even at this moment, there's a 3 use 50% off $25+ up to $15 off promotion which Uber automatically put in my Uber Eats profile that I'm not even going to bother trying to use because I already know I'll receive the error, "The promotion you picked couldn't be applied to your order" and the promotion will vanish from my profile.

To summarize:
  • All the promotions were provided by Uber.
  • The vast majority of promotions automatically appeared in my profile. No code necessary. No code to share.
  • Some promotions were sent by Uber Eats and Postmates by e-mail.
  • I practically never placed an order without a meaningful discount.
  • On weeks when Uber Eats or Postmates skipped or the promotion was mediocre, I turned to other food applications which also had discounts I planned to use.
I'm just not a profitable customer and I'm also no the only user on Slickdeals that Uber has shadow banned from placing orders with promotions.

If you're account is soft banned, do you still get promos for alcohol and convenience stores? I get a ton of those so not sure if I am soft banned or not. How did you contact them to find out? Call or chat?

Got the targeted email for 60% off and 90 days free.... clicked on the link and its showing full price with 1 month free.

Customer service wouldn't help.

Anyone have suggestions what to do here? I'd really like to sign up to the promo.

I got the offer in my notifications, however the discount never applied when I went to the purchase page.
Did you ever get it to apply?

My apologies. I did. Took a few times to log in before it went through.

Yes. I actually still receive coupons for restaurants every week but I can't use them! If I try, I receive the error, "The promotion you picked couldn't be applied to your order". It's easy to figure out if you're shadow banned. Schedule an order for a future date using a promotion. If you receive the error, "The promotion you picked couldn't be applied to your order", then you're shadow banned. If the order goes through with the promotion, then you're not shadow banned.

It's not quite the same. I still get offers, I have several in my profile right now, but I can't use offers! It's very frustrating to see the offer, add it to my order, then have the system reject the order with the error, "The promotion you picked couldn't be applied to your order", and have the promotion disappear from your profile.

I have not been getting food promos for awhile, only alcohol/convenience so I am not sure it is a fair test

This should be a HUGE PSA that is pinned.

Also in the same boat as I only use only Ubereats when they offer my coupons.

This shadow ban shenanigan basically boils down to Ubereats baiting & switching removing coupons that they previously give to you.

Uber is a for profit company so they can do whatever they want. They don't have to give coupons to unprofitable customers but removing coupons mid-promo much less removing applied coupons to in-progress orders is super sketchy AF

Same thing happened to me today. A few ago I received an Uber in-app pop up 40% coupon for next 3 orders.

Used on first order no problem yesterday. Then today second order 40% shows on order checkout until after I placed I noticed the charge was more than the amount at order checkout.

Called support and they said their internal profitability algorithm said I no longer qualify for any future coupons.

Even worse- the system automatically modified the order I just placed a few seconds ago removing the 40% discount resulting in the higher charge - this is super illegal bait and switch move.

The 40% coupon which was still on my account a few minutes ago for a third future order and isn't supposed to expire until a few days later also disappeared from my account as well.

Consider yourself warned about Uber eats coupons. Uber can take them away as quickly as they offer you the coupon. They even stoop to borderline illegality by modifying in progress orders to remove your applied coupon…

FYI my Uber account is over 10+ years has tons of ride hailing history both from personal and work related trips with a 4.9 rating so I'm definitely a profitable customer on the ride side.
