Would definitely get this if this had USB-C charging. Just that e-waste from big charging bricks.

my dell with a 10th gen intel does not specifically say it can charge usbc and came with a normal dell brick
but it will charge when i plug in a usbc and the symbol next to is is only the dp logo.
hard to believe this wont do the same thing, but i dont have any proof
this is a great price for a 12th gen but ive grown to accustomed to touch screens in my laptops

Do you have a link for Staples deal?
I got that hp $250 deal last year. That laptop was horrible. Doesn't install windows automatic updates properly.

My bad, meant to say 2666Mhz RAM.

Can someone already have this laptop please post the exact brand and model number of the RAM in it? Plan on buying the same stick and make it 16GB.
I received mine and just opened up. To my surprise, it has one 8gb Samsung 3200mhz memory. The other empty memory slot is empty of course. It also comes with an SATA hard drive connector in an empty HDD bay. Guess I will throw in a sata drive too.

I purchased this laptop before, but there is really hard to install M2 SSD card because the black screw on the metal blocker is very tight and looks like the common screw driver does not work with it. Anyone knows how to unscrew it? Thank you.
Go buy yourself a mini screwdriver set (such as this set for $5 [amazon.com]) and use the right bit. Whatever the screw is, I'm guessing it would be a torx bit, the linked screwdriver set will have the right bit for it.

Thank you for clarifying.
There will be others that refuse to hear that though.
Maybe they just want to believe otherwise.

IPS panel? No
VA panel? No
TN panel? It's complicated

I posted this info in the previous thread for this laptop.
It's a WVA panel, not VA. For some reason there isn't a lot of info regarding WVA technology on the web, but I did find some good info from Lenovo;

More info here [lenovo.com], and it's the same for Dell. In short, WVA are better than TN but subpar compared to VA and IPS.
That's my general rule too. If a monitor or laptop is IPS, they almost always state "IPS". If they don't say it, 90% of the time it's not.
(If a car says "leather seats", it's leather. If it doesn't say that explicitly, it's not.)

Lol, if it was IPS they would call it IPS

I do photo editing on a really old dell currently. Just use the built in tools - not photoshop or anything like that. Curious if this will meet my needs. Also - I've never added RAM to a computer before but have changed screens on ipads/iphones multiple times. Should I be able to tackle adding RAM?
Yes and yes. There's a decent chance you're happy with the performance and won't need to add RAM.

EDITED: To anyone that has received this laptop already comment on if you feel the screen is a bit better than a standard TN? TIA

If you have done screen replacements on Apples, then RAM is easy peasy.

Mine has a kingston ram and it's also 3200mhz but when you check task manager it's running at 2667mhz. Is there a way to adjust the speed to 3200mhz or is this laptops max ram speed 2600mhz?

THANKS for sharing this deal. I've taken a total flyer and ordered 6 of these laptop computers for my Startup. The built quality of DELL used to be light years ahead of HP, ASUS, LENOVO etc., so I'm hoping that is still the case now. Also, ordered the wireless keyboard/mouse combo for $19 on DELL website.

There is no option to adjust RAM speed. I dropped a 16GB 3200mhz kit in and it runs at 2667mhz just fine.

Just got this laptop today. But upon setting it up, I noticed that it uses 75% RAM on idle. I haven't even installed any of my apps yet! Is this normal?

For a 8GB system, yes, it's normal. But, no it's not good. You need more memory on that baby. For Windowses 16GB is the bare minimum, anything less is insulting.

Are you sure Windows isn't updating?
