That's funny - for me, non-touchscreen is a feature.

To each his own, but I think touchscreen sucks. It just gets my laptop, looking messy, and the trackpad and gestures are good enough. And any touchscreen will suck up more battery, and generally have more glare in the sunlight.

I agree that it is very useful but for a productivity machine I'd prefer not. No fingerprints and a thinner and lighter device.

Bought one. I was thinking about getting one from Costco. This model has better memory and disk size. Touch is optional for me.

From Costco:
Bought new 17" LG Gram 5 yrs ago and still fast and going great
Bought another 17" LG Gram demo that seems identical to the first except USB-C AC adapter (which failed) and D key doesn't always register.
Bought third 17" LG Gram that got stuck in a loop and would not boot up. Neither Costco "Concierge" nor LG lifted a pinky to help so I returned it.

Lesson: Costco "Concierge" is worthless. One time they just cold transferred me to LG television support. Don't think you are going to get tech support. LG tech support is also worthless.

I have Best Buy Total. Should I get this? What is the 32 GB useful for?

I really like the portability and hardware specs of this laptop, but my favorite feature other than the weight of my existing 15" LG Gram I bought tax-free from Costco (i5/16GB/500GB) for $800 is the OLED screen. I'm still trying to find a similarly priced LG Gram laptop with a newer CPU with OLED. The screen really does make the difference.
Best Buy also has the OLED LG Gram 15 Superslim on sale (effectively $950, including my Best Buy membership). I considered getting that one instead: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/lg-g...Id=6540476

Costco also gives 2 years of warranty instead of one.
Buying with a correct credit card will give you the 2nd at bestbuy

The touch vs non-touch argument is kinda dumb. Buy for your needs and ignore what others care about.

for the 17 touch buyers beware of disproportional weight on screen and keyboard. The build of this extremely lightweight laptop doesn't handle the heavy screen well. Go try it out at a local Costco

for me touch only makes sense on smaller devices like tablets and phones of course.. it doesn't make sense on a work computer.

My 16" Gram I bought brand new from Amazon 3x.. all three had at least 1 key that wasn't functioning properly. The quality control on these Grams is the worst I've ever seen. However, I got an amazing deal on it and ended up sending to LG for "repair" however they promised me in 7 - 10 business days I'd have it back.. and so far I've been waiting for 3 weeks while the "part is on backover".. what the F? it's a keyboard on your most popular laptop model.. why out of stock????

Anyways, can I ask for help from the good people of Slickdeals? Besides the issues with broken keys from the factory.. I noticed one other issue with these Grams.. namely the laptop does not SLEEP automatically after closing the lid. Is anyone here knowledgeable about how to fix this problem? I double checked all the settings.. I turned off that built in Windows "feature" via the registry that sometimes keeps it awake.. however, it still would not sleep automatically. Grams are the only Windows laptop that's ever had this problem. Since I carry my laptop around all day.. I really need to be able to close the lid quickly and have it sleep (so it doesn't burn up in the case).. yeah, you can manually put it to sleep but that's a bit annoying.. Please if anyone knows how to fix this.. I would give you the soul of my first born.

Thanks!

YMMV: My 4yo 15.5" Gram is still going strong! Excellent construction and has withstood roadwarrior travels, bumps and bruises. All keys working fine. Touchscreen has been used extensively.

I recommend Grams and will buy another when this one needs replacing.

The sleep setting is under power options. You will have a setting for what happens when the lid is closed, you may have a setting for when on battery and plugged in. Type the word "sleep" into the Windows search and you will see the option to change it.

thanks for the reply but as mentioned I definitely have those basic settings set correctly. By default it was even set correctly... one of the first things I checked.

Does nobody use a MOUSE? They've been available since 1980s and in the 90s they added a scroll wheel.
Scroll wheels devastated bar-dragging.

It may be difficult to find a bag that will fit the 17" model. 16" has a lot more options because that's the largest size Apple makes. I like the bigger screen though. If you get the version with an RTX card you may find better performance in Excel.

Anyone know which HDMI version this has? They don't seem to list that spec.
