If you want to take a gamble on ebay they have bogo free Xbox black controllers $33.99 for 2 controllers that are open box. You could return one and keep one with free returns. Mine did come with the dpad not working but I did order another one to try my luck again.

Nice deal if you need one immediately but I got a blue colored one for $29.71 shipped from the TikTok Newegg shop if you can wait.
The rumored new WiFi controller with haptics is at least six months away and will be double the price.

Looks like the Target offerings were limited to the weekend (11/18-19), as those now show as $49.99, but the other retailers still have the lower $39.99 prices.
