I am planning to do a pick up.. pick up is available near my Best buy.i am planning to get a new line.. so scheduling an appointment..( will it be any different in terms of cost or package I will get if I get a newline in-store)
And this way I can cancel in 3 days to save the $35 right? Should I pay anything else in the store beside $349+ tax and activation fee??

Also while calling the rep what should I tell..( they will ask why I am cancelling a new line)
Once I cancel the line will it get automatically unlocked or should I tell the rep to cancel the line and unlock??

Someone pls answer.. might be dumb question but pls
If you cancel within 3 days you will have to pay only couple of days of prorated charges. For unlocking the phone right away, you will have to follow the SIM swap method I mentioned the first comment

Hmm, the phone is already in shipping from best buy? What does 'stuck' mean? They won't ship?

How can they port at the time of shipping when they didn't ask for a PIN number?

With Google Fi deals you could just put in whatever you wanted when ordering the phone and could change it later once you got the device.
By stuck I meant the phone will be shipped but you won't be able to activate the phone once you receive it. So, there are two activations, one is activating (starting) the line with ATT which I believe Best buy system does before/with shipping the phone. The phone activation is what you do when you receive it. For many of these ATT phones you might get the SIM separately from the phone. Some esim phones might be activated at the time of shipping. You can always call the CS and check if the porting is successful or give them another PIN etc but you want to cancel the line ASAP when you receive the phone so it's better to do it at the time of purchase. I thought they will ask you for PIN during the porting step?

1. You can get a new number.
2. Yes, you do need to provide SSN but it's a soft check so no effect on the score.
3. Yes, if you have a number to port out (e g. Get a number from tello/Google voice for $5/free and use it) you can do this all online. Otherwise you will have to go to a Best buy store to complete the new account process.
Dear. Another question. What about Unlocking system.
When i get a number from tello. And bring it to Att
After getting the phone. What i have to do?? What i have to cancel or Remove??
Can u please tell me?? If i order sim from tello. They have to shop that to my address then i can get number or i need to get an E-sim number??
Thanks in Advance

Nope, they didn't ask me for a PIN. So if I just want the device (arriving Wednesday) I can just call ATT to just cancel the line even before the device itself arrives?

All I got from ATT was an email confirmation that a line was active....I was going to wait for the device to actually be shipped before contacting ATT to cancel the line.

Ordered couple for trade-in purpose. Likely toward the end of the year, bb will have another round of S23 ultra trade-in deal like last year. Or keep it for S24 ultra Feb next year.

Reading the policy, looks like that is the case. I was looking at "paid off early" paragraph before but paying it upfront should actually be the section you mentioned.
hopefully we are correct.

No, there will not be an ETF if you don't have an installment plan as there is no 2 year contract
Here is what I found on ATT website: https://www.att.com/support/artic...KM1008472/

"What to know before you cancel wireless service
Good to know: If you cancel in the middle of a bill period, you're responsible for the entire period. It won't be prorated based on your cancel date.

If you have an installment plan

The remaining unpaid installment balance is due immediately when you cancel the line linked to the plan. The balance will appear on your final bill. This includes accessory installment agreements.1
Learn how to pay off an installment plan

If you don't have an installment plan

You'll have to pay an Early Termination Fee (ETF) if you cancel before the end of your service commitment. We prorate your ETF for each full month you complete. Find out how to estimate your ETF if it applies.

If you activated a device within the last 14 days
You can find out how to return your device and cancel service on the AT&T Wireless Return Policy page.
You don't have to pay a restocking fee for returns purchased online that fall under the 14-day return policy. Did you pick up an online order in the store? Go to one of our stores to have the restocking fee waived. Fee waiver is subject to change."

Just got this done last week, canceled the ATT line in 2 days after unlocking the phone, the CS confirmed that there won't be any activation or prorated billing since the cancellation is done within 3 days. There was a bill on the account later but they removed it.

You should not cancel the line before you get a chance to activate the phone. Otherwise, you won't be able to unlock it (as first you have to associate the phone with an active ATT account)
