BTW, the 6 qt Target sold out in every Target store by me during the last $60 sale just recently. That price still seems attractive to many.

If you want a really cheap price go on Facebook Marketplace, you can pick up a 6 qt Duo used for as low $20.

I'm looking to get a gift for my mother. What's the difference between this post and the model posted here? Anyone have experience with both?

Functional wise, they are pretty much the same. The other one is significantly cheaper (almost $20 less) with egg rack.

What this model has for them is look, and the quick release button placement (less likely to accident jumpscare yourself pressing the quick release and hot steam gushing out just whisker away).

In case anyone is curious, this is basically the Instant Pot Viva. Here's a comparison with the Duo. https://www.corriecooks.com/insta...o-vs-viva/

All Instant Pot models mostly the same. However, Viva didn't have built in slow cook and sous vide function (not like Instant Pot is generally the best for slow cook, or sous vide). Some people with small kitchen space may prefer some model with those extra functions for their all in one utility cooking pot.

We still have the original instant pot with the old quick release cap. With that we only use for pressure cooked meal that work with natural self release, because the quick release button is a hassle and a scare

Am I missing something? This image of the Viva shows those slow cook and sous vide functions. https://m.media-amazon.com/images...Mwebp_.jpg

Seem like they have an updated Viva model. The old Viva doesn't have Sous Vide.

Can you modulate with this new release button? I have the knob release and when I make porridge, I can modulate it so the porridge doesn't fly out.

Yes you can and should. Seems like everyone learn first hand, unless it's mostly water/light broth recipe, filling the max level is a mess to clean up LMAO

The new release button is easier to use with your finger/hand than the knob one. This one is good enough for me. The $80 from Amazon has the better placement of the quick release button. With the knob you need a some kind of tool, or it's like playing a game trying to quick release and withdraw your hand. laugh out loud
