there are too many different models. dumb of dyson to make so many models. how many models does one need? they don't they just do two, one high end one low end? there are dozens of dyson vacuums. really dumb and makes it confusing. it shouldn't be so confusing to buy a vacuum. making me consider buying another type of vacuum.
What's the problem?
Where'd you get them from? What failed? My refurb V6 has lasted 5 years now and I wish it would die so I could justify a new one.

They should stop selling V8, v10, v11.

Agreed. Those names tell me nothing. I guess V11 is the best one???

Even on the Dyson website they don't provide a easy to read chart to determine the differences. You have to click on each and try to figure it out yourself. It's a joke.

Why is it every time there's a Dyson deal posted you get a bunch of people who have nothing better to do with their life than go into the thread and rip Dyson? If you don't want to buy a Dyson, just skip over the deal, it's not that hard.

Check out rtings.com. Not affiliated with the site, but that's how I made my decision. It was this or the Samsung. Personally the v11 is best in price/performance (refurb was $358 last year). v15 sucks harder but is more & includes fluffy brush with laser. If you are gonna get a v10, might check out Tineco. Last time I checked the v10 it did not have a removable battery. v12 has a small bin, honestly just skip it.

Never had a problem with my v11. Another battery is expensive though, but I also don't need a corded vacuum to sweep every once in a while. My parents have a Tineco and it just doesn't suck hard enough vs a plugged vacuum (rtings shows this too).

Complaints:
No LED lights on the front of the vaccum
The on button is a push and hold. Not a switch. There's a 99 cent part on Ali that fixes that. Stupid design decision.
No control over all vacuum settings. You have Low, Auto, and High. Should have Low, Med, Med+ and High and auto.

It's basically every thread that they do this with now. Every Grubhub, Uber, Doordash thread is loaded with people that hate those services. Makes me wonder if they set deal alerts to make sure we all know they think it's awful, because it's every. single. time. Every candy/food item thread is loaded with people who don't eat sugar and want to shame anyone who does.

It's hard enough keeping up with all of the stuff I am interested in. Truly makes you wonder how tough it would be to click on everything you're NOT interested in.

Their batteries are for shite. Not to mention always requires cleaning stuff out of the stick vacuums, more than I feel is usual. When I see that little "clean filter" status on the side of the hose as it struggles (after I clean it and use it on high for 5 sec) I just wanna throw that b!tch.

You should know the battery is replaceable and replacing one is like 20-30 usd at Amazon if you are a handyman.

Dysons are horrible. I went through two V10s within one year. Battery quality degrades very fast.

My wife beats the crap out of her V10 and it's 3+ years dents and all original battery. Maybe we're lucky. The refurbished POS from Dyson on eBay for a V8 now that's 99.00 dollars donated to Dyson.

Pretty good deal on the v11 from kohls. $350 - ($70 kohls cash) = $280.

Looks like $280 was lowest on SD for a V11, but refurbished.

I have a V6 Absolute and a V11. The V6 battery lasted maybe 4 years before I replaced it with a third party battery for about $25. Have had the V11 for about 2 years and no battery issues thus far. How you managed to go through two V10s in a year is beyond me. If the first one broke, it should still be under warranty. If it was just the battery, they're inexpensive to replace, so there would be no reason to buy a second unit.

I've had issues with Dyson and customer service was like slamming my testicles in the sliding door of a 1998 Dodge Caravan.

When they work they're great, if you have issues YMMV but it wasn't a fun time.

That being said don't run it on Max setting all the time and keep it away from excessive heat/cooling cycles and they're great. Have a V8 Absolute that I love and is still kicking it after plenty of heavy daily use. It's not going to replace your standard corded and you best believe that "fade free suction/power" is a load of marketing wank. You use it, you empty it, and you clean it just like everything else.

Other options on the market other than dyson that do just as good if not a better job, check out Vacuum Wars on Youtube for their really good no BS roundup on suction and how they perform on various surfaces. Ultimately what got me to pull the trigger on a Dyson and I'm glad I finally did (and waited till it was non insanity pricing).
I have an older v6 or v7 refurb I bought maybe 6 years ago. Battery died after 2 years, emailed customer service with a copy of my invoice from ebay and they mailed me a brand new battery. Was pretty painless.

You can replace battery on Amazon cheap and the new ones are better than original.

I think they're the best vacuums out, but I 100% agree about the batteries. I had to watch some YouTube videos comparing the 3rd market options. That plus the easiest Install made up for it only lasting 2 years for me.
