I had some Macrium backups fail on an X8, causing significant issues, but less than if I hadn't noticed and it had gone on longer. Not sure how to tell if it's the software (was 7 at the time), the drive (the drive utility and chkdsk say it's fine), the cable, or the laptop USB-C port. I saw a few threads commenting that backups are more likely to corrupt at higher speeds, so it was backing up too fast? Kind of wary of Crucial now, though I know any brand can make a lemon. That's what I get for not validating the backups often enough, though.
