I would buy a second one and use it for the rear. There are pros and cons of doing this.
+better images than most rear cams in those 2 in one setups
+less work running wiring since you don't have to run it from front cam to the rear. My car has a 12v outlet in the rear so less wiring, but YMMV
+if there is a problem with the front cam, the rear will still record

-bigger than most rear cams
-buy a 2nd memory card

At first mine would say "Recording Started" like every 3 minutes. Their customer service sent me this formatting software. My SD card wasn't on their list of supported ones. But I used their software to format the card and that took care of that problem. Not sure if that ties into what you are running into at all.

I have the model you reference.
It's a pain in the neck to pull the SD card and or camera to get videos from the A119 as you have to connect to a PC and have an SD card reader.

I should have gone with OPs.
The wifi and smartphone feature is worth the $20 premium IMHO.

I've moved away from these types of dashcams and started installing dual camera mirrors. The wide angle rear view is worth it alone with the way newer car's blind spots have become larger.
