Also, how much do you get out of a the color toner cartridges on what is considered typical home use (I'd say I'm on the high end of home usage too)?

Are you replacing them every 2 months? 6 Months? Yearly?

How does canon compare to brother printers? I can't wait for the brother refurbished because they are expensive
This looks nice deal. But after going through as many printers, I stick with Brother.

Is it worth canceling an order for the MF654CDW that was on sale for $250 over the weekend for this one? As far as I can tell it looks like this one has duplex scanning where the 654 doesn't.
also faxing
fax to file ability
https://oip.manual.canon/USRMA-66...0419_h1_01

duplex scan + fax made it worth it for me

I've had two Canon MFs and one Brother MF. The brother is so slow to get something printed while the Canon prints right away. Brother is billed as a network printer and has WiFi yet never seems to connect on my home network to phones/laptops. Canon was from before wifi network printer era yet has Ethernet and always seems to be located on network by phones on WiFi and laptops. Brother also goes into "deep sleep" mode and never just turns on when needed, has to always be manually operated thus defeating purpose of home network printer (we're not printing every day at home). My overall vote so far goes to Canon. Just bought the 654 version of color yesterday and excited to use it
Thanks! I keep reading in SD that brother's the best but I'm not a printer expert. I just know in the past I've had so so experiences with my epson and hp printers.

I've had this printer for eight months and could not be happier. Printing, scanning, and copying are all very quick and good quality. It was not difficult to set up and configure.

what are the differences between the MF656Cdw and the MF654Cdw and the MF652Cdw? They look very similar.

Print resolution is main difference. 600x600 vs. 1200x1200.

Rest is similar. For for 30 dollars I would get the higher resolution one.

Great printer, works fine with third party toner, only missing item is the 2 sided scanning but if you can live without that totally get it.

Not a good printer, not a good price ($250 2 years ago)
Cannon will hound you to replace your ink when it's at 50% capacity.
HUGE ink streaks down the middle of the print. Up to 1 minute delay on wireless prints as well as the app that's supposed to support wireless printing is garbage.
Would not recommend unless it were $150 maybe. Regret purchasing it at $250.
Definitely NOT as stated above. Mine prints well. Wireless printing is super fast. Prints are sharp.

I'm still on the original toners but toners for laser is always more expensive than inkjet.

This model was released in February 2023. Which one did you have?

Figures I just bought this for 309 a week or so ago that it is now on SD. Not gonna bother returning though.
