Highly recommended way of getting an accurate PD and prescription. And the PD doesn't change.

That said... I got my PD from the little read outs from that machine the measures eye Rx (the one you look at the little tree image thing until it focuses) that the optician tech left on the table for the eye doctor...While I was alone in the room waiting for the eye doctor, I just took a picture of it

Got a pair through zenni years ago on a SD deal, they were very nice glasses and were cheap.

That said, if you go someplace, and they give you a hard time about giving you the PD, you should probably go somewhere else.
My biggest issue is, almost every eye dr I've been to has intelligible writing on their RX slips (this is probably intentional, it usually just looks like fake scribbles lol), so I always ask the dr or the assistant there to read out the full rx to me on the slip before I leave lol.
A couple years ago I bought some glasses from them with a black frame, and I noticed when I got them that the black finish was already peeling off in a few places. At the time, it was not an easy process to get a refund, they wanted me to send them a bunch of pictures and initially they were only going to offer me a store credit.
Also, the coating quality on the lenses are all over the place, I have a few pairs with lens that look fine, while others, it is very obvious if you hold them up to a light source, the lens coating has all scratched/peeled off over time. I'm pretty careful with cleaning my lenses too.
