Most of those reviews are from 2014 or older. I would expect the quality to improve, or they would not be able to sell them to retailers still.
I was recently shopping for a dutch oven and the durability seems to be the main thing that sets the expensive ones apart. All of the cheaper varieties I looked at had complaints of chipping enamel in a short time

Cuisinart, Crofton (Aldi brand) and Lodge are good brands. I recently bought a 7 qt enamel Bruntmor on sale but only baked bread in it once, it didn't pop a chip at 450 degrees, rated 500.
