Are you talking about the Dell Inspiron 3520 (Intel) i5 deal that is also priced at $330 before discounts (e.g., 10% off) here [dell.com]?

Why would you get the i5 version over this deal? I did my own comparison analysis, and found that there's tradeoffs between the two versions. See below for details.

Comparison Analysis of Dell Inspiron 3520 (Intel) vs. 3535 (AMD)

Processor

3520: Features the 12th Gen Intel® Core™ i5-1235U with 10 cores, 12 threads, and up to 4.40 GHz Turbo.
3535: Equipped with the AMD Ryzen™ 5 7530U, a 6-core 12-thread processor.
Analysis: The AMD Ryzen™ 5 7530U in the 3535 delivers faster performance according to benchmarks [cpubenchmark.net], and it is expected to offer better battery life.

Graphics

3520: Utilizes Intel® UHD Graphics.
3535: Comes with AMD Radeon™ Graphics.
Analysis: AMD Radeon™ Graphics in the 3535 is better.

Memory

3520: Offers 8 GB (1 x 8 GB) of DDR4 memory at 2666 MT/s.
3535: Also provides 8 GB (1 x 8 GB) but at a faster 3200 MT/s.
Analysis: The 3535 has marginally better memory speed, which might not be a significant factor if planning to upgrade memory.

Storage

3520: Includes a 256 GB M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD.
3535: Doubles the storage with a 512 GB M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD.
Analysis: The 3535 offers more storage.

Display

3520: Features a 15.6" FHD 1920x1080 display with a higher refresh rate of 120Hz, WVA, Non-Touch, Anti-Glare, 250 nit, and a Narrow Border LED-Backlit screen.
3535: Also has a 15.6" FHD 1920x1080 display but with a 60Hz refresh rate, WVA, Touchscreen, Anti-Glare, and Narrow Border LED-Backlit screen.
Analysis: The 3520 offers a higher refresh rate, ideal for smoother visuals, whereas the 3535 provides touchscreen functionality.

Wireless Connectivity

3520: Equipped with the Intel® Wi-Fi 6 AX201 (2x2, 802.11ax) and Bluetooth®.
3535: Comes with Realtek Wi-Fi 5 RTL8821CE (1x1, 802.11ac, MU-MIMO) and Bluetooth®.
Analysis: The 3520's Intel wireless card is superior, offering better connectivity and speed. Also supports Wi-Fi 6. However, just like the memory and storage, this is also upgradeable.

In summary, the Dell Inspiron 3535 (AMD) excels in CPU performance, graphics, memory speed, and storage capacity, while the 3520 (Intel) has advantages in display refresh rate and wireless connectivity. Your choice may depend on what aspects are most critical for your usage, such as gaming, multitasking, or general productivity (e.g., the 3535 comes equipped with a touchscreen).

FWIW, I got the Intel 3520 from the last deal, but I'm not sure if it was the better purchase overall. Feel free to add anything I may have missed.

From the last DELL deal :-- sign-up for DELL Email updates and receive a one time unique promo code that takes 10% off. The code may take up to an hour to arrive in your inbox. It worked for me but YMMV. https://www.dell.com/preferences/signup

If you used a cashback site that ends in a number, have you received credit for your order yet? I ordered mine 6 days ago and while the shopping trip was registered, the cashback hasn't shown up even though the laptop was delivered over the weekend.
Yes. Credit showed up about 5 hours after purchase.

It has been 7 days for me and still shows under shopping trip! Where else I can check?

Like most Dell Inspirons, it should.

Looks like this particular model has a slot for 2.5 drive, but i'm not sure if the data and power cables are included.

this is what i'm worried about. did the hinge break from repetitive use or slight fall? this is what happened to my laptop.
The hinges are easily adjustable to prevent damage.

This thing rips! But beware out of the box the memory sits at 80% usage. Upgrading to 16gb dropped idle ram usage to 45%. Fresh install of Windows 11 to remove bloatware brought idle usage to 25%.
Do you mind how to do this fresh install? They have not provided and CD or otherwise? Is it via system factory reset?

I went to Microsoft [microsoft.com]and used the 2nd option for "Create Windows 11 Installation Media"
Created a bootable USB drive
Booted to the USB drive on the laptop by pressing F12 during boot up
Clean install of Windows 11
Everything including wifi and trackpad worked without additional drivers upon first start up
Then run Windows update - let it download and install all the updates.

I personally have not had to go to Dell's website to get any additional drivers and now I have a clean install of Windows 11 without all the Dell software and whatever else they preinstall.

Was that only during initial setup and Windows updates? I upgraded the RAM and did a fresh install of Windows 11 immediately but the fan has been extremely quiet for me while web browsing and even playing Marvel Snap.

Besides the 120Hz screen, initially I thought the i5 one (maybe) could be undervolved with ThrottleStop, though I am not sure now. The CPU in this one constantly hits 95+ degrees under load. Undervolting would fix this but unfortunately, the Ryzen 7350U is locked. That's my only reason.
Do you have this Dell Inspiron 15 3535 laptop yourself? How do you know that the CPU in this one constantly hits 95+ degrees under load.

Also, can you use an app like Ryzen Controller to fix the max temperature?

Quote from Bulwark99 :
Both have 15-watt TDP but the 7530U boosts up to 30 watts, that is when it hits very high temps. The i5 has a max turbo power of up to 55 watts, but I am not sure how it behaves in this specific laptop model.
Would you happen to have a source for this information so I can read up further? TIA.
