Controller warranty is 90 days (might be 1 year for the one that is included with the system). It is based on your your purchase date on the receipt. I only buy controllers from Walmart because their 3 year warranty is so cheap.
You post this same thing every single Xbox controller post. Move on.
Unfortunately, censoring discussion of the topic will not resolve the issue. It's a well established fact that these controllers have an almost eventual drift issue. The only way to "move on" is for a major hardware revision to take place.

This is a fantastic controller when it works. Too bad it's also the worst controller because it will fail within 2 months

LOTS of reviews for this one that Verizon is sending out used controllers that are out of warranty. Be very careful about this one.

Personally would never buy another Elite controller. I have had two in the past and both ended up developing terrible stick drift and/or trigger sticking within about 1.5 years. I thought the first was just bad luck, so got a second one... and same result. I love the standard controllers at their price point but cannot justify the Elite's premium price with not-so-elite longevity. That said, when it did work, it was great. I have since moved to PC gaming and no longer controller, so cannot comment on how this stacks up with other branded controllers.

One of my Xbox controllers went bad just recently. One of the triggers doesn't work properly. And the thing is that I don't even play much. Having a busy jobs and two kids doesn't give me much time to play, and even when I do my time is split between Xbox, Switch, PS5 and the Steam deck. And even when I'm playing on my Xbox, my time is split between the two controllers I have. My point is that the controller wasn't used much at all and I'm disappointed it went bad already. With all these deals on controllers I'm tempted to buy a replacement, but I've learnt my lesson. Not buying the Microsoft Xbox controller this time. I read good things about the GameSir wired controller. Hall effect triggers and Hall effect joysticks. Just ordered it for $40 on Amazon. Yeah, I prefer wireless but Xbox only licenses wired controllers. I'm hoping third party controllers will provide better longevity.
If the trigger is sticking, there is a DIY fix for that shown in a few YouTube videos. It involves prying off a plastic panel for each trigger, then cleaning a rubber foam pad with a Q tip and isopropyl alcohol. Not too difficult as fixes go--the stick drift problem is harder to fix.
