I would think that this should be getting more attention. There has been a flood of good and great desktop deals, and it's hard to wrap one's head around them. I think the most comparable in terms of CPU and GPU performance and price is this one:

CyberPower MSI Desktop: Ryzen 5 7600, 32GB DDR5, 2TB SSD, Radeon RX 7800 XT $1164 & More + Free Shipping

Perhaps the older gen CPU, GPU and RAM are dampening this Asus deal despite the relative performance?

I and many othera purchased this during Covid and returned it. The biggest draw back for this PC is its case and lack of proper cooling. The thing would sound like a jet engine even with simple tasks. I first thought that maybe I got a lemon until I read about many other people having the same problem. If you buy this, plan for a better cooling solution.

If cooling is an issue why not do a case swap. Been a while since I shopped for a case but I used to find good deals for $50-$100. But that might void the warranty or whatever or I understand some people don't want to do that when buying a prebuilt.

That would only void the warranty if you do cause damage to the thing and they can prove it. Just have to put it back together before warranty work will be done.

I bought this during Covid for a ton more money and returned because it was sooo hot. For this price though, this is a steal, i7 and 3080 for $1000, never thought I'd see the day

That's a shame, because at $999 with an RTX 3080, it's great performance for the price.

Case swaps are a huge pain, and something could go wrong.

Yup Corsair 4000D or 5000D would be the perfect upgrade. Lian Li LANCOOL II or III would work too
