Tbh buying with Gift cards does save you "money" but you lose extended warranty benefit which some cards have.

I wouldn't rely on having the email in your inbox down the road. There are many things that can happen, for example, old mail purged from server after a month, new iPhone restored from backup doesn't bring over old email so you only have the last 30 days of emails on your new phone, etc. I would print them out and store them somewhere, or PDF/screenshot the code and store it in a safe place, then just remember to delete or mark off when you used it.

Generally true but not so much for technology. If you bought a Mac mini from Apple a few years ago you likely paid more than you would today (and would have an older model), since Apple dropped the price. Of course, you could have invested the money and probably made more in the mean time instead of having it sit in GC. Another issue of course is that your money is tied up for limited uses. If you want to use it for something else tomorrow you can't. And if the store/company goes out of business (unlikely with Apple at this time, of course) you are screwed as well. I generally don't like gift cards, but sometimes it can be a good strategy when you know you will use them soon for something you would buy either way, and can get them at a decent discount.

Yep, that is how I was able to buy a phone for my daughter. Paid with GC and CC. I also purchased it online for in-store pickup. No issues.

Anyone able to double dip on this deal (or even triple dip) digitally? I'd like to not go through the hassle of physical cards but still use my Amex $25 off $250. Opening a new account does not seem to help...
