I bought this to use the existing bulb as motion sensor triggered. Unfortunately, to activate and use this product you need CamV3 too .

It has the feature to enable the motion sensing feature on the standard bulb but you need to connect Wyze cam V3 to activate this device. In other words, you can't activate the device without CamV3 . So, if you don't have Wyzev3 cam, you wont be able to use this device.

So a Cam v3 would turn on the bulb any time motion is detected? Can you restrict that by time or presence of daylight?
There's a setting you can enable to only turn on the bulb if motion is detected in the dark

Thanks very much I thought of pulling the trigger, I thought I can just use this to convert my coach lights into motion sensor lights with this socket save my money.

That's the most stupid design, that socket didn't work independently as a motion sensor.
So the socket gives power to the camera and the camera activates the motion detection.
Why the heck they sell socket alone?

I have this and the main benefit is that you can easily hook up a wired camera outside and just plug it into the socket of this device for power. As others have said the wired cam needs to be Wyze V3, but this works great and I live in Florida with tons of rain and never had an issue.
Couldn't it power a Blink cam? It just wouldn't have the motion sensor feature for the light (strictly providing power to the cam)

Not stupid, it automatically turns on your light from dusk to dawn. You can also link 5 bulbs together (need 5 sockets) and there is no need to wire for the camera. This is designed for coach lights with no power outlet for a camera.

This seems odd, but is listed on their Tech Spec's page, "Max Lamp Power30W".
No one uses incandescent light bulbs anymore. A 100W equivalent bulb in LED form is like 15W.

Will this at least provide USB power for older devices? I have both but I'm curious

The marketing material is misleading saying it turns your bulb into motion detection bulbs... but only when paired with their V3 camera. I tried it with the pan 2 camera and it won't set up (maximum 1V from the USB but the Pan 2 requires more power apparently).

Does the dusk to dawn feature require the V3 camera too?

What happens after a power outage? Is the light bulb on or off, and is that controllable?

Wyze refurbished is an untested return sent out for testing by the customer.

I received a twice-"refurbished" WyzeCam v3 from Wyze-direct (could tell because the refurbished sticker was cut open and then taped back together), and the camera was fine but the USB cable was bad. So instead of checking it and determining that before reselling, they just kept resending the same thing out again.

This is important. I got it last time thinking it was a smart way of making a dumb bulb smart. It still is, but you need to get a Cam v3 also to make it with that way

You probably can. I have mine set to sunrise/sunset (it's my front porch) so I don't have to leave my light on all the time anymore.
