I cancelled my service from 11/26/22. Do you know if I should wait for 11/26/23 before I can use the 99c/ month offer? I know this is a very smart group and someone may know the answer. No chat support

You forgot you don't have abc, hulu, Netflix, paramount, hbo Max, starz, cinemax, showtime, AMC plus, espn live sports. Hate to tell you but you are getting about 1/8 of the programming with double the commercials with the worst 2 streaming services and calling it a deal.
For me it is a deal. All depends on what you watch really. I mentioned Hulu. I get all the networks over the air, which includes abc, which is on Hulu too. I don't need Netflix, paramount, max, Cinemax, Showtime, AMC plus or sports. I like my shows but I have other things to do. If people do need all that other stuff, then that's ok. The difference for me is I get to choose only what I want and nothing extra. If I want Paramount+ I'll wait for a deal and get it and cancel something else to keep my costs down. But for the people that need 12 services, I say "you do you and enjoy"

You're right about commercials not being shown during movies and such with cable or satellite. It is a slight adjustment but for the price difference of what I was paying compared to now I'm ok with it and have learned to adjust back to my days as a kid when you had no way around commercials. Commercial time now just means it's bathroom breaks and snack time!
Yeah fo sho. Although I guess we might want to compare price of comparable service meaning ad free HBO etc. plus something like YouTube TV or Fubo. The gap is not quite as wide. Either way, I know plenty of people like me and you who are fine with whatever is cheaper.

I am expecting something to come along like a "Roku Bundle" where you pay the cost of two services and get 4 bundled. "Movie Mania" or "Sports Fans" etc type stuff. There is the Disney bundle but it is just based on what Disney owns and not a particular interest. Disney fans don't want to see Peter Griffin's bare @$$ on a thumbnail while scrolling through shows on Hulu for example. The future is bright I think.

So hulu goes back down to $1, and pcock goes up to $2?

Ok.

Either way, I'm not paying full price. 🤬 WWE!

It sure will. I had last year's $0.99/month deal which doesn't end until the 28th of November for me, so I had to create a new account. The only thing that differed was my email address. Everything else was the same and I'm now good for another year.

Also, this was previously shared in the earlier pages, but if you are using a Gmail email address, you can use a "+" to modify your address, but it'll still go to the same inbox. For instance: let's say your email is "[email protected]." Changing it to [email protected] will still end up going to the same inbox, but the steaming service considers it a different email address.

I added the 01 because I can then rotate the address in the future to "02," which makes it easier for me to keep track of which iteration I'm using.

You can just sign up with a different email address.

Or if you dont want to make a new email address, just add a period after the first letter in your current email address, and pcock will treat it as a new one.

That's what I did last year, and this year I'm gonna take the period out.

I will say this - since it considers it a new account, your watchlist will NOT carry over, if that's a big deal to you (I just made a screenshot of my watchlist last year when I switched to the period-email address, and added the important things back on the new one).

I don't have a Roku device yet is that what you needed to get the free Roku channels forgive my total ignorance I'm 65 years old and trying to learn
Yes, if you have a Roku TV or use a separate Roku device, Roku offers lots of content with ad supported free content. Not your Peacock or Paramount+ or Netflix, these are channels with lower profile content but still can find good stuff in there - and it's free.

There are also some free streaming services that are available on Roku, Amazon Fire Stick, Apple TV, computer, phone, etc.Tubi (tubitv.com) is one I use all the time - I find movies I am interested in on there that aren't on services I pay for. Others include Freevee (owned by Amazon and formerly known as ImdB TV), Pluto TV, and Sling Freestream. Vudu is a service that sells and rents digital movies, but has a large selection of movies that are free with ads (rotates frequently).

If looking for a Roku device, the Roku Streaming Stick 4K is on sale for $29.99 at Roku itself and several retailers. I'm sure there is a thread on it here at SD. It is a great steamer - I have it on my bedroom TV and works great. The slightly higher spec Ultra is also un sale but I'm not sure it's worth the price increase.

Good tip - also, you can just add a period, so [email protected] one year, then the next year you can go back to [email protected].

fml my plan ends on the 28th Frown

edit: went to try to cancel and they offered me the $1.99/mo for three months..skipped it to risk trying to apply it on the 28th/29th, then thought better of it and just re-started, then repeated but took the offer instead (overrode a previous promotion they've given for $2.50/mo that was expiring december 28th)

I'm such a noob Slickdealer sometimes. We literally just signed up for Peacock on 10/26 -- I didn't even think to wait to see if there would be BF deals on streaming service. Checked with Customer Service and they said "no go", that it's only for new Premium Service subscribers.

Ah well.. the $40 extra per year won't kill me, but it was worth a shot. I know, I could probably sign up again under a different email address, but I just don't want to rebuild all my show preferences, find where I am in series we already started, etc.

EDIT: I'm going to try cancelling the service and then have it "lapse" until the 27th, then re-sign up using this deal. Unless someone knows if it must "lapse" for some extended duration before one can use this deal.
