Dragons Dogma has you casting chonking gigantic spells that throw around monsters, jumping up pretty dyanically to grab harpees from the sky lunging for you, then climbing over humungous enemies to stab them wherever you'd like (break armor, stab off tusks/eyes).
The advantage to Skyrim base game is the depth of consequences and big world you can explore, though with lots of jank, with a freeform classless system with about 4-5 roles you blend together.
The advantage of Dragons Dogma is the freeform class-based system and super open combat system. with about 9 classes you can freely change between and mix skills between. The world 'feels' about half as big, but the game is much more replayable and the consequences a bit more 'interesting' to see play out in a lot of cases. Less janky than Skyrim, but still janky too.
DD also feels a lot 'wider' in terms of difficulty curve to explore, while still being more of an adventure than a 'Souls'-like game.
Overall, they're both about equally as memorable and fascinating games to play through - I'd definitely suggest not missing one if you liked the other.
Kind of hard to compare since they're both different despite being in the same genre. If you're looking for a more combat oriented game go with dogma. Whereas Skyrim has a better narrative, and more freedom outside of combat.
I don't remember in Skyrim, but if you fail a quest in dogma you can't restart it unless you start a new playthrough.
You can't explore as much early on in Dogma also since a lot of the enemies aren't push overs and will kill your party. The fast travel is also limited in dogma compared to Skyrim. You need to place port crystals down in certain areas to warp back there. Those are just some of the basic things I could think of atm I'm sure there's more.
