This has pan and tilt features though; allowing you auto track moving objects/people.
However the Wyze Cam v3 that you are referring to does have free Cam Plus Lite[wyze.com] support. (Basically free AI person detection). The Wyze Cam Pan v3 does not ergo it's debatable what is the better deal; I guess it depends on what your needs are. I would agree with you though that the V3 2 pack for $35 is the better bargain overall.
Incidentally, Tinycam Pro[amazon.com] supports LAN live view monitoring for most Wyze Cameras. This means you can make Wyze cameras into IP LAN cameras that don't need access to internet. (You will need internet access initially though to register/activate the cams via the Wyze app and Tinycam Pro)
Wyze Bridge[github.com] will also make these camera compatible with NVRs but my preferred method for live LAN viewing is using Tinycam on an old Firestick; works out well for me.
EDIT
I now realize that you were referring to V2 pan and not the V3 deal for $35 that has no pan or tilt ; my mistake and disregard all that crap lol. At least the Tinycam info could prove useful though...
Bought one recently as well - the panning and tracking is ridiculously cool but the actual results are not what many might think. Like if someone if walking in front of your house, the camera will begin tracking and move a little, stop, and move again (rinse and repeat). So lots of jerky, blurry footage that actually hurts the quality of footage massively.
The tracking is best thought of as a way to reposition the camera on the fly automatically for a target, and hope they don't move too fast/too much. Ideally an area that isn't too high traffic. When pointed outwards to my road the camera would constantly scan back and forth depending on sensitivity settings like a golden retriever (squirrel!) at anything that moved and hold for some time in last known position, taking the camera away momentarily from where I really need it to be watching.
YMMV, but IMO this is a niche security camera product. Amazing for price for the panning/tracking. Tons of features are hidden behind subscription paywall, be advised.
It's not a bad deal, it's just not as good as the "2 for $35 old model sale" you found last year. I have 2 of the v2 models and they are good, but the v3 offers a few more features: IP65 weather resistant, useable outdoors, 180 degree tilt.
Also, that v2 price was last year, not right now. Currently the lowest I could find for v2 is around $40-43 each (outside of shady shops).

Why does it bring micro usb matter? I would understand if you had to plug it in to charge but the cable is inserted 24/7. You're not unplugging this. 🤦 ♂️🤦 ♂️🤦 ♂️🤦 ♂️🤦 ♂️🤦 ♂️🤦 ♂️🤦 ♂️
you bring up a very rational & practical point!
having said that, I'm not claiming my (personal) disdain towards microUSB is rational.
Unfortunately, new products continue to be released with microUSB & it's obsolescence continues to drag on.
One Port To Rule Them All
One (ok, a few) Cable(s) To Use Them
& In Standardization, Bind Them.
Do you have to pay for a service to use this as an outdoor security camera?
This model yes. I paid $20ish for the year. Older models you can use cam lite for free I have the v2's and regular v3's this one v3 pan has to be paid for. I also had to buy a $20 wire from Wyze to be able to mount it upside down, it needs a 90 degree plug if you want to hang it from a soffit.

Not if you use a microSD. If you want cloud saving then yes, you have to pay the CamPlus service. The standard V3 still has Cam Lite for free which gives you 12 second recordings every 5 minutes (cooldown).

Does this work well with Blue Iris?
Not really, you can get it to work, by doing a lot of custom stuff but it wont work 100% with then Pan commands.

Which is the best wyze camera that will still work with my free cam plus lite lifetime subscription
The standard V3, any camera made/released after that model no longer has Cam Plus Lite
No longer a fan. I've got a total of 8 v3 cameras and am a few months out of warranty with audio issues on two of the cameras and wyze refuses to help troubleshoot nor replace em. I discourage others from considering this brand.

Cam Plus Lite is practically useless for me, because of the "cool down" feature. It ignores events for 5 minutes after the last one reported event. Which means you lose a lot of events. You're better off installing a good SD card instead.

Well being out of warranty means they don't have to replace them. That's fair on their end. It sucks two have audio issues though. Curious what the specific issue is.
I have 2 of the V2 Pan cameras. One bought the end of 2018, the other the end of 2019. Neither one has had any issues.
