Hey yeah our Red Series Fan/Light definitely had some problems with disconnection issues and I sincerely apologize. We learned that it's better to use Z-Wave to Z-Wave Associations or Zigbee to Zigbee Bindings to connect the switch to the module and implemented that change on this version.
If you are having those issues with your switch, I'm happy to send you one of these on me as I'm confident these will perform much better. In fact, I'd actually be curious how it would perform on someone who had the issue (I didn't experience it personally with the Red's and couldn't replicate it so this would be a good test).
Anyway, again, sorry for the flop at your house and definitely reach out to me or our customer service team (also me lol) and I'll be happy to swap it out with the new one.
The big problem this product solves is adding smart home control to a ceiling fan with a light where the building wiring only has one hot wire running to the fan box.
Lutron and others make modules that fit in the fan canopy and provide separate control for the fan/light via a wall switch, but I have not seen one (other than a discontinued Hunter product) for smart home use.
This looks to be a great solution, provided you can get good Zigbee signal inside a metal fan canopy.

I've purchased many of Inovelli's Red and Black series Z-Wave switches and love all the functionality. You can customize the light color, set up notification animations on the switches, and trigger scenes with double/triple/quadrouple/+ taps of the switch paddles. Seems like a great price on the new fan control. I have two of their ZWave fan controllers and they work great. Hoping for the same experience with the Zigbee module.

Does this work with any smart switch if youre using homeassistant w/z2mqtt or zha?
It gives you control of the light and fan via Zigbee. So anything you have connected to your smart home set up can be a trigger to issue a command to the fan or light.

According to their community page, this has an antenna wire specifically to get a signal through metal canopies.
Had their red series but that was a flop. Many features, sure. But there were random disconnects, firmware issues, and delays... Check their forum. Hoping this would be better...
Just an FYI I have an older Harbor Breeze fan where I was able to remove the existing remote control module and take it back to being a "dumb" fan so that I could add Lutron wall switches (a dimmer for the light kit and a fan switch for the fan o/off/speed) - I have 2 switched hot wires in the fan canopy so was able to add separate switching.
I know that doesn't apply here, but for those who have remote control AC fans. it MAY be possible to replace the existing factory remote module with this Innovelli device to make their old existing remote controlled fan "smart".
In the case of my old Harbor Breeze fan, the remote module was simply wired in to the black and blue fan and light wires with wire nuts at the factory and was easily removed.
This Innovelli device should be a smash hit for them.

Curious about the Lutron canopy device - not seeing anything on a quick Google search - do you have a link you could share by any chance? TIA!
