The Walmart $300 gift card deal doesn't work for Verizon trade in. So I found Best Buy with a better and clearer deal for me to upgrade my phone on the existing Verizon unlimited plus plan.
But I eventually went with Verizon.com own upgrade to do a trade in because the android phone listed in the Best Buy advertisement is not listed at all in the trade in step after Verizon login verification thru Best Buy. But it's a better deal from Best Buy if you can see the actual selection on Best Buy order trade in selection page.

This Best Buy deal is just a bit better than Verizon with the 5% discount and $30 gift card.

Im heading to BB to see if I can pick this up for $27/36mths and stay on the essentials
He told me to find him a deal for a 15 pro max and this one seems good. He has always had verizon since it's the most reliable for him so he doesn't mind paying the expensive pricing.
So Best Buy has the $830 over 36 months credit with unlimited plus which is around $80 with auto pay, no tax and fees included. He doesn't need the Disney or whatever plus add ons they have.
I'm seeing others mention older rate plans qualifying but I believe he needs the unlimited plus to qualify for the $830, right?
He would be trading an iPhone 11 which qualifies for the $830
Plan cost with Auto pay = $120/month + $22 (tax and surcharge) = $142 for 4 lines per month
Paid tax on 4 devices = around $280
Got $400 ($100 per new line) cashback using cashback site.
Moved from Cricket, where I was paying $100 for 4 lines. The cashback and free phone made it a better deal for me, making $448 for iPhone 14 pro ( 378 (10.5*36) + 70 tax) without trade in.
NOTE : $200 porting credit is not applicable for WELCOME plan, if you port with Unlimited PLUS and then later switch to WELCOME within 12 months of service, the $200 will be charged back. So you need to stay with PLUS plan for at least 12 months.. PLUS plan is $18+ (including tax) costlier per line than WELCOME.

Your relative will be given a choice to upgrade to Verizon unlimited plus plan during or after entering trade-in phone IMEI in order to get that promotional trade in credit. You can either do this transaction in bestbuy or Verizon. Bestbuy currently has addition 5% off the new phone and $30 gift card. That is $90 for an iPhone 15 max pro. But I would bring the trade in phone to the Verizon corporate store to finish the trade in process rather than mailing it.
