I've had XReal AIR AR Glasses for a couple years now when they first came out and it's the lowest I've seen them. Works amazing with the steam deck and certain smart phones (or you may need the beam adapter). Its like having a 55-65inch 120hz TV in your pocket and uses less battery than the steam deck screen.
I can't speak to other AR Glasses but XReal are amazing.

I've been following these glasses since the release. There are more than enough legit discussions about them on random subreddits and they seem to work exactly as advertised. I just can't bring myself spending almost $300 on a "portable monitor" so to speak, since I don't commute or travel that much.
Maybe stop talking out of your ass. I've been using these for 2 years now. I bought two for $380 each before they were sold in the US. They are amazing. I follow the development and updates through Xreal discord.
Like the steam deck, there are great products being made and XReal is one of them. The devs continuously update and even updated the original air to work with consoles, 120hz update etc.
Also I own an LG C2 TV, gaming for 30+ years, PC gamer, modder. I've been around tech and all expectations have been surpassed with these.

I think a big advantage of something like this is you won't get neck strain from looking down at a SD, or whatever else you're using.
I love mine. Pull it out on a trans-Pacific 12 hour flight, pop in earbuds, and watch a 100-inch screen movie in coach. I'm a screen nerd who would never watch a movie on a tablet, but this opens up the ability to watch a quality movie anywhere.
Had these since the early days, and they're worth every penny. The Air 2 is a pretty much a lateral 'upgrade' with no reason to exist. These are a better deal.

Why would you bother with these on steamdeck unless you were playing hentai games in public?
It's like having a 55-65 inch TV (the steam deck let's you scale the screen size) in your pocket. No neck strain, no holding the steam deck close to your face and causing elbow or arm fatigue. Depending on the game (tycoon, RTS, 4x etc.), it's way easier to see the HUD elements. Also it uses less battery than the steam deck monitor (in 60 hz mode).
