I've been looking for a mattress for guest room. Should I get 10" or 12"?
If you want it to be more firm and hold up better, the 10. If you want something more plush, but it may sag/break down faster, go with the 12. If it is for the guest room, may not be slept on that often so 12 would likely be just fine. Also depends on the size of the person/people using it.

BB rep told me to go with the 10 because I am a large man and it would hold up better for me. You would probably be fine either way. Hope that helps.

I bought this mattress previously. Walmart wouldn't take the unboxed return in-person (despite their online support saying they would) because it's a third-party seller and they would have to ship the mattress back via FedEx. FedEx said they can ship anything as long as it is boxed, which obviously can't happen with this mattress once taken out. You would be at the mercy of Brooklyn Bedding.

The 10 inch "firm" was the opposite of firm and I'm a skinny guy so 12 and 14 inch must be like a bean bag.

The nice thing though is the tag showed a manufactured date of the week I ordered it. So either it was made to order or they just happened to make a new batch that week.

It's not a third party. It is shipped and sold by Walmart. They are made to order by BB.

So you pay 1k for topper mattress and only 200 for the mattress. What an genius idea. You must NOT be one .
Compared to this particular mattress, his idea is not cheaper. But compared to $1K and above mattresses, he's got a point.

I bought a Saatva Classic (queen) in firm. Cost $1150 (it was considered a good deal) and it's very good, but ultimately I dunno if it was worth the price. Then I put a 2" latex topper (about $250) on top of it. Now it feels incredibly good. I could easily see how a stack of thicker latex toppers would be as good or better than what I have now.

In hindsight, I would've just gotten a cheaper mattress (like this one) and put a 3" latex topper on it. Latex is just an incredibly great mattress material.

I chickened out again, put in a cancellation request. I just don't know much about these, How can a hybrid with coils ship in a box,,, weird - it's a big decision and I don't want to cheap out on good quality sleep
It's a very common practice and not something you need to worry about. Bed in a box mattresses are compressed and roll packed. Both the foams and coils are able to rebound without issue. You would just not want to buy a bed that has been roll packed for longer than a year.

This a mixture of less dense foam and a lot of coils. A 14" king at 90 lbs tells you everything you need to know about the materials. Look up the weight of a high end 14" king and you'll see that most are pushing the parcel delivery limit of 150 pounds. BB's Sedona Elite is 145 pounds as a comparison.

that's a lot, just got shipping notice despite my cancel request the same day. They also just refunded my CC for first bed so I'll try to refuse this next one because my sore back can't lift it.

Very comfortable mattress, however the edge support is definitely lacking. We ended up putting into a guest room. But for the price, this is a great bed.

I was thinking about doing this. How did you bring the two together? Did you use one of those straps or just put them side by side? Was going to get an adjustable base and two of the twin XLs
We just have two twin XLs side by side - no straps needed -- this allowed my wife to get the soft version of BB and me to get the medium version and I can lay flat while she is elevated in the adjustable bed. You can buy a split fitted king-size sheet set which is split at the top and connected at the bottom so that one fitted sheet works with independent use of the adjustable bed. We use a single king-sized flat sheet.

Third party links prove nothing. Show me where Walmart says you can't return the mattress once opened.
Just providing info -- take it or leave it. Makes no difference to me. Personally, I appreciate others sharing what they've found online about the ability to return or not return. So far not a single person has shared a personal testimony of successfully returning an open mattress. Yes, I see that customer chat told someone they could but that doesn't mean you actually will be successful. We all know the chat reps may or may not have any clue. At the end of the day, we simply want to know if the mattress sucks and we drag it to Walmart if they'll accept it. The vast majority of info out there suggests no. Walmart's full return policy also says they reserve the right to refuse a return for anything. I read it. So may be a YMMV but best of luck.

When getting dressed-yes, sometimes. Or when I'm sleeping somewhat close to the edge and I feel like I'm just going to roll off.

Man, I saw this and got a little giddy but I'm checking myself. Some day I'm going to splurge on a BB Signature Sleep. There's no way this is close to that quality, right?

I'm currently sleeping on a no-name hybrid bed in a box and if I needed a mattress right now I would absolutely pull the trigger on this.

I would go firm and customize with toppers as needed. The good ones are pricey but worth it. You can make a bed more soft but not really effectively more firm.
I assume these hybrid Mattresses (one from this deal) is shipped in a Roll-pack?
Usually Roll-packed Mattresses are not much firm due the way they are designed for shipping as bed-in-box.
