I contacted BB months ago asking about the difference and the person told me these are basically older stock, but they're all made with the same materials in the same place.

Not sure that person knew what they were talking about as others have mentioned likely differences.

I did end up buying the 12 inch standard though and it's nice. I will say, if you're on the heavier side (I'm ~200lbs), I'd go for the firmer 10 inch. I wish I had. This mattress does sink in after a few months.

I think from my research that's just natural settling in, but it made it less comfortable for me. The firmer one would be better for slightly heavier folks I'm betting.

Anyway, for $200 I would say this is a pretty dang good deal based on my experience with the standard.

I got my 10" firm a few days ago, but I'll preface this by saying that I'm no bed expert.

The mattress I HAD was a medium, and after 7-8 years it had become unbearable. A couple springs were poking up, and it was sinking in certain areas.

This firm is exactly what I needed (back/stomach sleeper).

It's a lot firmer than what I expected from a bed in a box. The top 1" layer of foam is soft, but the mattress has very little give overall. To me, it's a good compromise between my previous medium mattress and sleeping on a hardwood floor. I've seen it described as a 6-7/10 firmness - like I said, I'm not an expert, but I'd probably put it at a 7-8/10. I'm not sinking into it at all.

It inflates in about 10 seconds once fully unwrapped. No real off gassing or fumes to speak of, only a slight smell. It's one sided. I've seen people complain about the edges on similar models, but the edge support on the firm feel about as good as my prior spring mattress. It inflated to the full 10", if not slightly more.

I'm just now waking up on day 4 and I'm very comfortable lying here.

Obviously I can't speak for how well it will hold up, but I'm happy with my purchase for now.

The biggest difference seems to be the layers in the mattress. Going by the images on walmart.com and the BB website:
Standard 12":
https://i5.walmartimages.com/asr/...nBg=FFFFFF

Signature 12":
https://res.cloudinary.com/helixs...a=BAAAROBs

So the signature has 5 layers vs 3 on the standard. the 14" standard seems to have 4 layers (2" foam base layer).

the medium softness, 12" is the softest mattress i've ever touched. Initiated a return-- walmart sending a freight company to pickup for free. Huge PITA to manouver this king around my house lol. I just bought a mattress bag so I can leave it outside for the freight co. on pickup day.

Is this better than my moldy Costco recall one that I still need to return?

Someone picks up the Mattress at your home? Do you need to try to cram it back into a box?
Walmart will arrange free freight pick up if you decide to return based on my conversations with their CS folks

I own a Brooklyn The Plank and have enjoyed it for about five years - perfect shape and just a wonderful bed!

Is there a restocking fee for returning it?

Purchased and received the 14" version of this mattress because I assumed 4 layers > 3. I know it's meant to be plush but this mattress is way too soft and have not had a proper nights sleep since receiving it. The edges are so soft and flimsy you will roll off the bed if you venture too close. It was worth a shot at this price but didn't work for me.

Scheduled a free return freight pickup through the app. Props to Walmart for a convenient return method.

No issues with smell - let it air out for a few hours as soon it was unpacked in a different room and that seemed to do the trick.

I got the 10" firm and I think the firmness is ok. It's good for me if I sleep on my back, but it's a little too firm when sleeping on my side. I think I will get a topper to make it better for my side sleeping.
I think it's pretty good deal for the price.

Got the 10" firm. It's more like medium firm like most ppl mentioned. You get what you pay for usually, but I like the mattress. It's not amazing, but I'd say it's decent & amazing for its price.

Man, I saw this and got a little giddy but I'm checking myself. Some day I'm going to splurge on a BB Signature Sleep. There's no way this is close to that quality, right?

I'm currently sleeping on a no-name hybrid bed in a box and if I needed a mattress right now I would absolutely pull the trigger on this.

I would go firm and customize with toppers as needed. The good ones are pricey but worth it. You can make a bed more soft but not really effectively more firm.
Hey, I am getting my first place and need a good enough firm mattress for the cheapest possible price. Is this a good option? What else can I choose?

Definitely dig through the comments in this thread. Honestly, I would totally bite on this for $218 if I were in your shoes.

I ordered the 12" twin for my son. It's arriving tomorrow, which is about 3 weeks ahead of the original estimated delivery date. Just an FYI.

After careful decision, I bought the 16" Cal-King size by Oliver & Smith brand for $499.99 at Walmart instead. Is this good quality or not? Slickdeals or not?

With the 16" instead and higher height, a bed frame is not required at all while saving cost from it too, and I can immediately place it onto carpet floor ground.

Looks like some cheap China made mattress.

Yes, possibility, or maybe not. It's Oliver & Smith company, since 1921.

One photo shows you only need a foundation or very-simple wood frame, or just put the mattress on the floor and save money from the frame.
