I would pick the HP Victus for 2 reasons.

1) 13th Gen I7 (ASUS is 12th gen)
2) DDR5 RAM (ASUS is DDR4)

Both or those are very minor differences.

The biggest issue with the Victus is that the display is crap. They tell you it's 250 nits, 1080p, 144hz... and most likely the color gamut, response, contrast, etc are similarly bottom of the barrel.

I'd much rather have the Tuf F15.

deciding between this or ASUS - TUF 15.6" Gaming Laptop - Intel Core i7 with 16GB Memory - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 - 1TB SSD - Mecha Grey for the same price. seems to be very similar laptops besides cpu, size, weight and battery? anyone know which is better and why?

i did peep that, i also cant find any information on the new hp victus likely due to the fact it just released. i was wondering if the ram was soldered or not and if there was a second ssd slot available. i did like the asus for having a bigger battery and the 4070 was confirmed to have the higher wattage variant which i want to confirm for the victus since that would be the determining factor for me.

i was surprised no one else posted this deal since the asus one got so much attention.

Similar question: if I want to upgrade the RAM... Up to 32 GB or even 64 GB, what are my options?

It looks like possible, since it's a custom model. This Costco version has 2 x 8GB DDR5 5200 RAM. https://www.hp.com/us-en/shop/Con...a%20silver

The GPU power is the same on both. 140W. RAM is not soldered, expandable upto 32gb. but there is no additional ssd slot. If you click on the documents link in the Costco link, they have the detailed spec .
