I would pick the HP Victus for 2 reasons.

1) 13th Gen I7 (ASUS is 12th gen)
2) DDR5 RAM (ASUS is DDR4)

Both or those are very minor differences.

The biggest issue with the Victus is that the display is crap. They tell you it's 250 nits, 1080p, 144hz... and most likely the color gamut, response, contrast, etc are similarly bottom of the barrel.

I'd much rather have the Tuf F15.

So close to pulling the trigger on this… But, I have a little more room in my budget for similar/slightly higher spec Legion 5i (if something hits for CM). Been using Lenovo exclusively for +10 years now with no hiccups, hate to break that streak over a couple hundred bucks….

Looks like there will be noticeable drop in overall build quality with the Victus. Anyone have feedback on this line?

Do you have a link to the Lenovo one?

i went with the victus over the asus tuf, the newer gen processor and ddr5 is what sold me since they were both so similar in virtually most aspects. for me the extra screen size sold me too, i just wish this had a similar battery size to the asus tuf and had another ssd slot.

seems like there is a 14.99 charge for shipping and handling whether or not i do in store pick up or have it shipped to my house. there doesnt seem to be anyway around it.

DDR4 to DDR5 should not be that big a deal while comparing to Asus f15.. I have gone with Asus for now for better battery, screen and weight.
I would trust Asus build quality over hp as well

man both laptops are so similar im so indecisive... i ordered the victus and now this post is giving me pause, im just going to go with the asus. i do think the time i spend using it as a laptop will have a greater effect on me than feeling the tiny decrease in powah. thanks for the post.

That's how I feel... a good display is an absolute must. The wee speed difference (and it really is tiny) will not be noticed by anyone.

Both of these are pretty low end models, but where brands are concerned I'd give Asus the nod there as well.

Had a chance to get my hands on both and the Asus feels like a more premium product. It also has a larger battery, better screen, more keyboard backlight options, and lots of ports.

I think the HP had better speakers and a little more keyboard space but that's about it for advantages.

I picked up the 13700hx victus that costco sold for the same price a couple of weeks ago.

It has 32gb ram, the 13700hx processor and 4060 graphics.

This one has 16gb, the 13700h processor and 4070.

Which one is "better"?

That would mean that the 1gb slot is occupied and the 512 one is the empty one, correct?
