Blu-Ray for $22 also a good price, especially as digital codes for Paramount blu-rays redeem in 4K on iTunes when there's a 4K copy available.

I'm with you but many people like to have both options.
Many people watch on the move etc.

For me if I was purposely going to watch a movie digitally, I'm going with the better quality.

If I can get the code I will but I try to sell them to make the disc purchase even better.
I don't calculate the code when I buy, it's just a plus.
Selling the code is honestly kinda a great idea. I've got 500 movies worth of codes to start selling I guess

Its a pain in the ass to be honest. I have a similar number of these and they are useless to me. I tried selling them on ebay and started getting scammed by people so I just gave them all away in the end - not worth trying to hustle for like 5-6 bucks once you pay all the sellers fees and have to deal with straight up weirdos on ebay. You might have better luck than me though.

I still don't understand why everyone buying physical media cares about these stupid codes. Just buy it digitally then, or stream it. You're defeating the point of buying it physically.
Physical for at home, digital for when I'm away from home. It's really not that deep to look into.

FP has a place but most of the time I'll sell them on places like OfferUp or CL, much easier that way imo.

It's like if they included a VHS copy. Why would you even want it?
Do you actually not have the ability to figure out why some people might value a digital copy more than a VHS copy?

Streaming 4K might get you close to BLU-ray quality but still not as good as a physical disc.

I can watch the digital versions on my tablet while I'm traveling. I can download several movies and TV shows to 1 little tablet. How would I watch a VHS copy on an airplane? How would I be able to carry 30 of them easily in Europe? I value the codes for this reason.

Once upon a time…people lost cloud access…the end.

For people paying attention and/or who have pathetic small town "internets"…physical media is invaluable.

Just because the majority of people live with their head in the sand, it doesn't negate the value of things that actually work.

It's for convenience, like those times when you're too lazy to get up and change the disc.

This right here! DVD's got me through the pandemic when I was working from home on rural internet and needed to keep the kids entertained without using bandwidth. Puzzles and coloring books only last so long and they were too young at the time to let roam free outside. Throw in a DVD, pop some popcorn and I was able to actually work for a couple hours. Find a few dvds the kids love and they'll watch them over and over.

False.
Way better than Blu-Ray.

I have a Sony A80J OLED. The disc barely looks better than 4k streams. The largest difference is audio quality - and even then unless you have a top notch sound system it's not that noticeable. I buy discs, redeem the digital codes and often just stream the movies because it's more convenient and the quality is close enough that it's next to unnoticeable for me.

I think you just made his point kinda true.
If the inferior choice is "close enough" to you doesn't make it false.

I kinda agree with him, depending on the transfer a good player can upscale BD content to streaming 4k content quality.
At the very least "close enough" that it's next to unnoticeable.

I get a chuckle when people talking about the other half of a movie experience say "unless you have a top notch sound system it's not that noticeable"!
Then they go buy some pricey "Atmos" soundbar! A soundbar even a pricey one does not fall under that category!
