Best printer I've ever owned. Have had it for two years and never had to refill ink. Also has a very good self-cleaning function.

I never need to print anything… until I do lol. Printers are my kryptonite, I can never get them to work without troubleshooting a bunch, ink runs out fast, or ink even dries out.

This looks pretty good, but for anyone who's had it a while, have you ever had issues with ink drying out or anything like that?

Does the ink dry out in these if not used frequently?

I've had one for 3 years. It gets daily use from my home business and it's still going strong.

I rarely find myself needing a printer/scanner at home, is this cheaper model a better choice ? Need something with low maintenance and which can work well with cheap 3rd party ink

Yes, I still have to refill them because of the high volume daily printing I do. I print many photographs, but the ink lasts a long time. I haven't refilled any since the beginning of the year and still have a little less than half on most of them. I can't remember the last time I've had to refill the black.

I am a small business owner. My printer broke two years ago and I could no longer find printers that took "off brand" ink. Bought this printer for my desk until I could find a new permanent replacement. Never did, this little thing does it all.

At our small office my partner and I use the hell out of it for daily documents. Twice a year I print sales sheets and flyers for our products. 150-200 copies of multiple documents. It was cheaper to blow through ink bottles than send the job to a local shop. Just feed it paper and done. We have run over 6000 pages through it last time we checked. Just have to burn ink every once in awhile to clean heads.

Easily get 1500 prints on full tanks at highest print settings. Ink is cheap to replace compared to the cartridge system. I have a 5000 series at my house but it does not scan, or work as nicely. I don't print at home very often, I tend to try to keep work at work. The only downside to these printers is if you do not use them often, the ink heads can dry up and you need to do a clean head procedure to reprime them.

Refills are cheap! $40 to refill all the tanks. I used to pay that just for one color cartridge that would only last a few months. Even with our heavy use, we only refill 2 times a year.

So today I saw this deal and pulled the trigger a couple times. Buying a new printer for my home office, another for my business partner and a third to replace the accounting printer that is on its last leg.

It is a very great printer. Other than when someone forgets to put the flap down when they add paper, no errors, easy to use, easy to copy or scan. I highly recommend this little workhorse.

You buy bottles that are VERY clean to add ink. When you get to the very bottom of the tanks you pop a bottle on top, give it a squeeze and watch the level go up.

Inks are about $10 a year and last a long long long time. We spend about $40 to get all 4 needed colors and store them so they are there when we need them.

This is the second best printer our company ever bought. Last one was over $800 and this was to be a temporary replacement till we found a new one. Never needed to look for another. It is a little workhorse!

How to find if a printer support maintenance cartridge?
You will need to do a quick google on the model that you want to buy. I bought several canon g3270 since the waste ink absorber is replaceable. The downside of g3270 is not duplex printing. This printer has a cloud printing which you can print the cloud anywhere.
