First, read the Amazon reviews sorted by most recent. Second, this mattress contains fiberglass which Casper actually denies but is a health risk (other bed in a box mattresses may also, but not all do). Third, nearly all "bed in a box" mattresses are the same and you can get a twin of these for a fraction of the cost elsewhere. Casper pumps millions into advertising and fake paid reviews for their products everywhere.

Not true, most mattresses are memory foam, but there's different foam densities and transition layers that cater to different preferences. If you're going to poo poo on Casper then provide alternatives instead of sounding like a political alarmist a la Bernie Sanders.

I have a latex mattress, but there are cons to a latex mattress with back sleepers, so I've transitioned to side sleeping. Considering going back to memory foam, Casper isn't on my list though Stick Out Tongue

I too have a latex mattress and would say they are the best option for anyone, even back sleepers-- you can customize the firmness of each layer and my wife who is a back sleeper has a firmer setup. The biggest downside to latex is honestly how heavy they are. So if you want me to give alternatives I'd say latex, followed by anything else that isn't Casper. Smilie

Really though, I'd tell someone on a budget to get two very dense firm layers of memory foam of about 6-7 inches, and lay a latex topper on top of the firmness of their liking, and that should be good enough.

My latex mattress is medium firm, I get lower back pain where the natural curve of the spine is. Memory foam can help fill that concave channel, but the real solution for me is doing more stretches and some squats to help strengthen my erector muscles.

I also get lower back pain, but it's not from the mattress... need to lose a little weight and do stretches & strengthen the core (basically exactly what you just said)!!
