Reminder, DiscountMags oftens offers an additional small discount during checkout for adding a second year. Eg if you want two years of a magazine, you can try adding one year to cart, then begin checkout, and a popup will suggest a second year at another 8% off the first year price. Does not work for all magazines.

If you do a google search for "cooks illustrated subscription", then the ad on the right hand side will take you to discountmags with 3 years for $26.40

Is it just me or is it really hard to find a magazine on their website if you're actively trying to search for it?

Googling it is better than looking for magazines directly on their website.

Uh, no they don't.
They send an email in plenty of time to either cancel or renew.
They send a second email before actually renewing with the renewal price, again in plenty of time to cancel.
If you have a question, they answer their support mail quickly.
All of the above is exactly what I would want from a service.
Have been using them probably over 10 years.

I have a subscription through DM that runs for another year. If I purchase a renewal using this deal will it just add time to my existing subscription that doesn't expire for >1yr?

It does as I just added 3 years to one of mine. The catch is your mailing address and name have to be the same and there's a renewal box to check.
