Just activate new phone on tracfone.com, and say you want to use existing number. It will transfer current minutes over. Be aware you Will need to have current phone on hand to get verification number

You cannot swap sim. I just stack it on my phone. I do a more convoluted way to maximize the returns but it takes about 2+ months to maximize the benefits. Say my main line is A. I buy this new phone B. I activate B using referral from A. For max benefit, I use a disposable email account for B. A gets 3K rewards (worth 3GB data after 2 months), B gets 2.5 K rewards ( 2GB worth). Wait 2 months - redeem all the rewards, unlock the phone B. Then remove B from the disposable email account and add it to the A account. Then chat with CR to merge B to A. At the end, I get about 6 GB data thru rewards + everything else stacked up !!

Sell phone B, which is unlocked, on FB....now that is gravy !!

Have people been able to apply the new customer promos more than once per household? I think HSN and QVC have both been canceling orders using these codes when the household has used it before.

I am a Tracfone newbie. I recently bought a Tracfone phone that came with a sim card with 1500 talk minutes via the HSN. I have been using the Tracfone phone for about one month now. Can I take the Tracfone sim card out and put it in my unlocked iphone 11 and continue to use it until the 1500 talk minutes are gone?

I have already put the Tracfone sim card into my unlocked iphone 11 and I am able to make phone calls and text messages.

Thanks. Did you activate it on the phone it came with first or just directly into your unlocked iphone?

I activated the sim card (with the 1500 talk minutes) on the included Tracfone phone.

how will this work with Google Voice and Wifi calling
This works great with Google Voice and Wifi. I've been using it for several years and I never run out of minutes, txt or data. 90% of my usage is over wifi using a google number. I only use Google number.

I always run out of days/year plan and have to add to it via buying cheap phones like this.

Do the 1500 minutes renew each month or is it 1500 minutes, text, data for the entire year so you could theoretically run out before one year?

While it may work for a while the sim is linked to the IMEI of phone it was activated with and needs to stay in that phone. It's highly recommended to activate the other phone with a new $1 BYOP sim and legitimately move service to the new phone (activate/keep current number).
You could be jeopardizing your year of promotional service by not doing things correctly - I recommend putting sim back in original phone & when phone unlocks then move balance to the 11 using a new sim.

Does the minutes total get taken down from the allotment if you're calling over wi-fi?

I use a google number over wifi and no minutes are taken off ---I think it uses data if not on wifi. I forward a google number into my cell phone. I'm not sure if you are using the TracFone number on wifi. Guess it depends if Tracfone offers wifi calling and if your phone allows wifi calling.
In My opinion the best way to use this calling plan is using a google number and wifi. The minutes, txts, data last forever if your on wifi.

You are correct. Your advice is very good. I called the Tracfone customer service rep today and she told me that when Tracfone finds out that I am using the sim card in another phone they will disable the sim card and I may lose the 1500 minutes. I quickly put the sim card back into the original Tracfone phone (that it came with and activated with). I will follow your advice and get a new BYOP sim card and transfer the service over (after the 60 days unlock period for the Tracfone phone). Thank you.

I think that your 1500 minutes are subtracted even if you are using WiFi calling. That is what is happening to me.

Regular wifi calling does deduct from your balance. It's really for use when you have a weak cell signal. However using a Google Voice number does not deduct minutes, my balance stays high because I use my GV number all the time.

When a BYOP sim is only $1 it's just not worth possibly losing service when you least expect it. Others have spent hours getting their account reinstated and their balances corrected, really frustrating. I always keep a few of the sim cards around.

You can use as a wifi device, yes.
So can I activate it for TF svc and still use it with my Google Voice number? Also, is there a nicer phone with similar deal for slightly higher price?
