Perhaps you were speaking about CCs in general, but the Citi double cashback Mastercard that many of us have hasn't had the extended warranty benefit for a very long time. In fact, IIRC without doing any searching, I thought all Mastercards dropped extended warranty several years ago. That's why I use my VISAs whenever I buy electronics.

Nope.

Citis travel cards (Premier and Prestige) both still add 24 months of warranty-- which is better than any Visa I'm aware of.

Even better, unlike cards from many other places, Citi adds this coverage after any extended warranty you might have--- which is how folks were getting 7 years of total warranty coverage on TVs from Costco.com and things like that.... 2 years from Costco, 3 years from the extended warranty Costco often bundles, then 2 more years from Citi.

Only Citis "free" cards dropped this benefit.

Do they offer singn-up bonuses certain time of the year?

ETA: 60K TY points seems to be their "standard" singn-up bonus. I guess I'll be waiting for the 80K TY points offer to show up again.

I have one of the "free" Citi MCs (double cash, IIRC) which dropped the extended warranty. Thanks and repped for clarifying all of that.

I have an old Citi MasterCard that still has the 24 months extended warranty benefit. I've only filed a claim once, two years ago. I just checked my account online and the benefit is included. I'd also called Citi on Monday to confirm coverage, since I was buying a new car battery online. Tires are excluded for obvious reasons, but the rep told me the car battery will be covered. I looked over the language carefully just to make sure there are no gotchas.

Although I flip between several credit cards depending on the use case, this Citi MC remains firmly in the rotation because of Virtual Account Numbers. I don't accrue enough TY points to ever redeem for travel, but the occasional extra 15% value on gift cards is a plus.

NerdWallet reported that some Citi cards did lose some benefits two years ago, but it's not uniform so you have to check your card benefits to see what remains.
