I got a "$3 Amazon Day Reward" for seemingly no reason.

Not old digital credits, it seems.
I am getting the"Amazon Day Reward" too, but it matches my digital credit balance, so it looks like that is what it is. Just have the name wrong.

Came across this 'Premier' Version for $59.99

And
*TurboTax – Deluxe 2023 Federal + E-file & State – Mac OS, Windows [Digital]* $39.99

Legit?
Ran across some reviews of this site and it seems they sell the same id to multiple people, probably because they assume most people will only do 1 return. Their site disappears after tax day and then they start the process again when the new versions come out.

How is this download different then just completing this online? This downloads seems cheaper but I haven't done anything to compare. Seems like last min tax changes or bug fixes needs to be updated on the downloaded software. The online version can get cash back from Chase and some other sites.

Won't this also stop people from sharing with other people (neighbors, co-workers etc) since all 5 tax returns will be available to see when everyone has to log into the one intuit account?
Are the tax returns now stored online or still only locally on the computer? I don't care for Inuit to have a copy of my return.

I bought it at this time last year to do some tax planning. It was worthless until the updates were added this year. In most instances, I would get something to the effect of "this section is not available until a later date."

So I'm holding out for a better deal when the product actually will do something...

That always seemed really dumb to me, so a state would rather charge money for something that makes their life easier
It's not the states charging money, it's TurboTax charging you for the convenience of e-filing your state return. States actually hate that TurboTax does that because it causes more people to mail paper returns which take more time and effort to process.

The last few years Amazon has had a one day special for this on 12/28 or 12/29. I always buy on that day. Last year was $27.49 for Deluxe plus state. No gift card. Most Slow shipping credits expire on 12/15.
Are you sure it was end of Dec? I checked my order history and it was 11/26/22 so maybe this current deal is the best deal and no more in Dec?

The same Intuit account login credentials will need to be used when e-filing each of the 5 federal returns.
Are you sure about it? Last year, it also required creating an Intuit account to install but the key can be used for different accounts.

I was not required to create an account to install TurboTax from a CD last year or to validate the code.

And for them to do this, if it's true is gut wrenching, I get their CD specifically so I don't have to give them any personal info. I guess if I was looking for a reason to switch that is the one. I'm not really sure why they care since we can only use a code 5x regardless if we create an account or not.

I used to be able to use Deluxe but Intuit changed their program at some point and now I need to use Premier because of my rental unit. Someone told me I can use Deluxe is this true? In the end it is a small price to pay once a year. I just hate what Intuit does sometimes.

Yup. Ever since I started doing my own taxes 3 years ago, the approaching new year leaves me with a knot in my stomach knowing I'll have to spend 30 hours or more dealing with this misery. And my taxes aren't even that complicated. It is a massive weight off my shoulders in March when I'm finally done with this crap.
Then you shouldn't be doing it if you don't know what your doing

I just purchased the Deluxe version for $45.99 and noticed that if I had a disc delivered to me via Prime, I received the Discover 30% discount ($13.60). If I changed to the downloaded software, the discount went away. I wonder whether I still need to log into my Intuit account if I have the disc?

Can someone explain what the benefit to buying this is? We do our taxes each year online, in browser. How is paying for software up front going to help us?
