DO NOT BUY! I picked up a similar pack of these and over half the batteries started leaking just sitting in the remotes, etc within months of installation.

They weren't even expired.

I typically buy these every year around this time and I've never had a leaky battery. I feel like they were less expensive in years past maybe at Home Depot closer to or after Xmas?

They've been great for things like remotes, game controllers, and kiddo toys.

Edit:

Yes, I bought these exact 60 packs at Home Depot for 7.88 each. BUT that was December 1, 2021. Don't know if they'll have anything like that again this year.

Same here. Bought some few years back Memorial Day promotion. They were dirty cheap but very bad. Voltage didn't even get to 1.5 on most of them even without being expired. Stick with Kirkland from Costco.

Agreed.
I've been buying these for about 4-5 years - I'll buy fifty or so of AA and the same amount of AAA. Sadly, in the last two years, quality has gone downhill and they've started leaking. Prior to that I'd never had a problem.

i bought a few of these for $7 couple years ago at home depot. i only use them in remotes and low power devices. the only one i had leak was in my xbox controller

If you've got Costco access, this sounds like a terrible deal. Yesterday their 68 pack of Kirkland brand was $17, and a 60 pack of Duracell was $17. These Rayovac deals used to be way better!

How is 60 batteries for $15 a terrible deal compared to 60 for $17??? Even the Kirkland 68 for 17 is the same cost per battery as 60 for 15 at Lowes. But for sure - getting 60 for under 10 would be better. I doubt it though considering the massive inflation from last yer to this year. How could they sell them for 7 bucks in today's economy?

Same. All brands have leaked on me, but Rayovac seems to be the worst BY FAR!

Because duracells/Kirkland are supposedly better quality. I personally had zero issues with duracells except for the one or two (out of 50 or so) that leaked after being in my basement for 16 years. Duracells come with electronics I purchased never leaked Even though they were 4+ years old. After devices complain about low battery I do volt check and use duracells in other less power hungry devices such as remotes, thermometers wireless mouse etc
I would never ever reuse Rayovac or Energizer Max. I would never use these 2 in any devices I care about.

Just got my order. 5 boxes of AAAs. 2 boxes had white battery residue on the bottom inside of the clear packaging. The other 3 boxes were ripped open, either in transit or by the packager throwing it in. Hard to tell. Leads me to believe it's Lowe's at fault with preparing old inventories, chucking batteries into a cardboard box, and not having any padding whatsoever for transit.

I've done it twice and had no problems getting replacements. Neither of the replacement battery packs had any problems.

I've stuck to buying these knowing if they have problems they will replace them. Don't know if other companies will replace them or not.

I haven't had any problems with Rayovac batteries in years.

Wow! So many stories about leaking batteries from top brands. I've used many AA Rayovacs over the last decade, and cannot recall any leaking. I always make sure the batteries I buy are made in the USA and I'm wondering if that could make a difference in quality.

The Q&A states that these are made in the USA. For all those that have said they had many leaking Rayovac cells, I'd be curious to know the country of origin to see if that makes a difference.

And if they leak, take it back for a refund. Best these brand companies will do is mail you a coupon, and lecture you about how to store them.
