Couple things here for folks to note.

1) I've heard you can take an alcohol or Clorox wipe to one of the bitter coatings and it'll rub right off.

2) Apple specifically says don't use bitter coating batteries in AirTags, so I don't know why Duracell is advertising it like this. I've wondered too.

3) when you change an AirTag battery the phone won't immediately see it as a fresh battery. It can take a few minutes or a while. Check it after a while and it'll probably be happy.

You have to scrape off the bitter coating to get them to work in AirTags.

Interesting. My AirTag kept saying low battery, so I changed out another battery and still got the error. Then I used another one that didn't expire until like 2029 or something and STILL got the message. Not sure what the deal is there.

It seems odd to me that it says on the package here that it works with Apple Airtag specifically-- but then you're saying you have to scrape off the coating to get it to work?

Btw, the 35% coupon is only for Subscribe and Save, not a normal little clip coupon. I know it says that in the description, but just pointing that out.
Regular price on the page is $10.25

They have a similar deal for Energizer Lithium, 6 pack for $7 or so. You can also get a 4 pack of the above batteries for $5. It says it's a BF deal and it's normally $13? Holy cow.

Yup. Not just with AirTags, other things don't work with these either.

Buy Duracell if you want to give yourself work to do

I bought these once before on a slickdeal. Garage door remote died and replaced the battery. Had to do it 4 times from this 8 pack until it worked thinking it was just dead on arrival. I had no idea

I had something like this happen to me when replacing AirTag batteries. I had to reset the AirTag and then it finally said full battery. I tried 2 different brands and 4 batteries before I reset it. If the AirTag had been low battery for a while it gives this error.

I buy the crappy Sunbeam dollar store ones when I need these, but they really don't last. I wonder if anyone's tested all the brands.

Pro (dummy?) tip: Don't be like me and take these button type batteries out of the packaging and put them together in a zip lock bag or the Battery Daddy compartment. They will discharge and also pop open. Oops. Lesson learned.

Batteries are one of those things where a bootleg or lower quality product can look similar but make a difference in a long run. HFT AAs are certainly one those cheap things I am not rich enough to buy.
Not that Amazon is a guarantee as well, though.

I'm guessing they fixed it so now they're trying to advertise that fact.

For double the cost, you can get 50 (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08FBFDQNB/). I buy these in bulk fairly regularly (I do a lot of LED stuff), and these are good, reliable batteries. OP is a good price if you need a small quantity, but if you need a larger quantity I never pay more than about $0.25 or so per battery for CR2032 batteries.
