For those contemplating getting this for your AirTags, don't. The bitter coating (that makes it child safe) reduces contact with the AirTag. There's ways around it if you search online, but whether it's worth the trouble is something you'll have to decide.

Wait, really? I'm surprised because the Duracell 2032 is the one Apple officially recommends on its website? And Duracell is the default battery brand that comes with every AirTag.

Also, in this Amazon listing, it has a photo that it's "recommended for AirTags"; just like Apple suggests.

Buy batteries from anywhere other than China Amazon… you'll get fakes, not worth the trouble.

Also, yup, the stupid butter coating on Duracells is horrible and effects everything.

Not sure if they've changed it to support AirTags now because when it first launched, this was an issue. Some folks suggested using an eraser to rub off the bitter coating at the points where the AirTag contacts the battery, so I'm guessing Duracell may have done since the issue first surfaced?
