I ordered one $100 Carls Jr gift card. It shows $51.50 with $50 off and $1.50 shipping fee. Once I clicked purchase button, the total amount in the confirmation became $101.5 for a $100 gift card! There is no discount at all. and I saw the $101.5 pending transaction in my credit card account. It's my first and only purchase.
I called the gift card customer support, the representative oversea first told me that promotion starts from 11/28 so I am not eligible, that's why I was charged for full price. I told him that the black Friday promotion on the website states valid from 11/24 to 11/27. After a few minutes on hold, he told me that when i use the card i will receive at Carls Jr store, I will receive item 50% off there. wtf. I told him just cancel my order and refund me. He said he could not cancel the order, the only thing he can do is create a ticket for his management team, my order cancellation still upon management approval.
Wow. What a nightmare!
The USPS delivery man stole my $100 card.
I got email confirmation of shipment on the 21st, by the 30th when I left for vacation it had still not arrived.
When I returned on the 9th it still had not arrived, so I called and they told me it was already redeemed and only had a $33 balance left. They said they couldn't do anything, not even deactivate the remaining balance. The only thing they could do was give me a link to Carl's Jr. customer feedback portal. Not even a phone number.
I have curbside mailbox that is picked up every day and USPS email notifications. I checked through my daily mail email reports and saw the envelope was supposed to deliver on the 30th. Which means that it had to have been stolen after arriving at my local post office. I received the other mail that delivered on the same day. So unless some random person was walking up and down the street opening everyone's mailbox to see if anyone received something that looked like a gift card, someone at USPS saw an envelope that said Carl's Jr. on it that felt like it had a gift card in it and stole it.
I reported the theft to USPS local branch, Postal inspector, and challenged the charge at my credit card company. Emailed the CJ feedback portal, and got a response that just said they forwarded it to "leadership for review".
Used my GiftCard today. $10-$11 for each meal nowadays. Got three combos for the family and no one really enjoyed the food. Yes 50% off is a good deal but the food is *NOT* good. Feel blessed if you NEVER got your card and got a successful chargeback refund. Just being honest here and not trolling btw. Two more visits in my future....sigh.

It will be easy for your dispute and don't have to waste that much of time.
1. Go back to your "USPS email notifications" to see if you have the picture of the envelope from the gift card company or not
No, Easy to dispute since you never have it.
2. Do they ship with tracking number?
Will be super easy to dispute since it will tell you when it was delivered and you can check it even you was on vacation without have to go to the mailbox everyday.
3, No tracking number? easy to dispute your credit card to get money back

It's well know that people will steal all the mail from some mailboxes in a neighborhood. Later they go through it looking for anything valuable (credit card offers, credit cards, bank statements, etc). We had a hand written check from my mom stolen several years back, it was washed except for the signature, and rewritten for a larger amount of money. I'm not saying the postal carrier didn't steal it but it could have been someone else.

Finally reporting back on my experience with this. On Nov. 25, I ordered two $75 Carl's Jr gift cards. The $75,50 charge to Buyatab showed up quickly on my bank card. The cards did not show up quickly. In fact, I had pretty much given up on them when, around New Year's, they showed up. Given what I had read in this long thread, I figured they were going to have zero dollars on them.
Finally today, we were going to hit a Carl's Jr, so, in spite of the horrendous reviews for their app, I downloaded it this morning. The reason for doing so is that my googling aroun had led me to discover that they have a so-called Appy Hour, from 2-5 PM and if you order in the app, you get apps and milkshakes for $2 each. First, I took the two gift cards into the Carl's and asked them to check them for money. SHOCKER: each card had $75 on it, but the employees never heard of the $2 app deal.. So, off we go to a couple of stores, returning at 2 PM. Sat in the parking lot, opened the app, added the gift card as a payment method. Ordered the guacamole burger for me and chicken tenders for my wife, plus the onion rings, zucchini and a milk shake. Had to take a couple of steps to add the $2 deal to the order, but, Hey, Hey, it all worked. Total bill just under $23, but, remember, I was using a 50% off gift card, so the cost to me was really more like $12.
All in all, it took a while, but this one was, at least for me, A Slick Deal!

Did you really buy gift cards for a restaurant you've never eaten at? That seems short-sighted.
Ordered on 11/28, received with 0 balance. Anyone else with a 0 balance card, what did you do next? CC dispute/chargeback?
I did a cancellation on my credit card when I hadn't gotten my card for over a month. About a week and a half later, my gift card arrived. I've been sitting on it for the last 3 weeks but tried to use it today and the lady at the register said there wasn't a balance on it. So, it could be because I did a credit card charge back they zeroed out the card.
Update on my case. I had bought the $100 gift card for $51.50 on 11/24/2023, but after a couple of calls where essentially it was clear that they played games with me, and after I had raised a ticket "that I actually want my order to be processed" and of course didn't hear back, I disputed via the Wells Fargo credit card on 12/22/2023, just before I flew out for a trip till 1/15/2024. Almost instantly (few minutes!) in response to my dispute, I got an update from Buyatab that my card has shipped. On 12/30/2023 I got a "Coming To You mailbox Soon" email from USPS Informed Delivery showing that Carl's Jr envelope. On 1/15/2024 when I returned from my trip, I found that envelope and checked the gift card balance online on buyatab.com and it had $100 balance. I checked my Wells Fargo card and that dispute had no change at all, not even a temporary credit yet. On 1/19/2024 I got an email from Wells Fargo that they are now investigating the dispute and that it can take 60 days and that meanwhile they will issue the temporary credit. That is still the status on my credit card, it has a temporary credit for the original charge of $51.50, and the dispute case is still pending. But I have just checked (twice) the balance of this same gift card now, and it has gone to $0. There was no communication from Buyatab at all. Either they had voided the card immediately after I first checked the balance, or maybe Wells Fargo really did something again on 1/19/2024 when they issued me the temporary credit, that then made Buyatab void the card. Or there is fraud going on, and the card got depleted unrelated to the dispute.
Either way, Buyatab now better does not challenge the dispute and let it go through.

Didn't make any stink about it for reference.
Hopefully they'll work Hardee's! Thanks op!
