I couldn't figure out how to create a dedicated server via Docker so I ended up returning it. Maybe I'll run a Windows VM to host the server in the future.

Don't forget the sequel, Sons of the Forest is out. I'm waiting for that game to drop in price.

Definitely a ton of games in this category.
I just purchased a 2 pack of 7 Days to Die for $10.
Seems like a lot of these either have single player with npcs or multiplayer without any npcs besides the monsters.

This game is awesome, I spent hours and hours playing it. Not sure if the cheats or "trainer" still work with the latest version but it was fun messing around them. I would build like mansion cabins.

I enjoyed this game well enough, and I'm not normally a fan of games that have crafting and all that. It definitely is a better game to play with friends - if you can convince some to play it with you. The story is decent as well. For $5, I think it's a good buy

edit: I wouldn't generally recommend the online sessions. They didn't really seem friendly.... people who used mods/cheats to troll you, or public servers that blocked you in the spawn point so you can't do anything. There probably are a few decent ones out there, but YMMV
