Deal History
Deal History includes data from multiple reputable stores, such as Best Buy, Target, and Walmart. The lowest price among stores for a given day is selected as the "Sale Price".
Sale Price does not include sale prices at Amazon unless a deal was posted by a community member.
There is a reason they don't allow you to test these out in stores. It is on purpose. Because they want you to spend $300 on some negligible improvements to the sound. Change my mind

It's showing the sale price now. I'm torn on this one. There were some channel imbalance issues, even on these special edition versions. People do apparently like the sound if you get a good one. I don't really need one with a battery and I believe once the battery goes - these units are basically useless until you swap it out. The price seems good, though. This is tough.
I have one from that deal a couple of months ago, with no channel imbalance issues.
Unit is solid and powerful enough for my HD800S.
Long lasting battery. But it's heavy. I use it to take hard to drive headphones to the front yard or living room where there's no amp there and a qdelix or btr5 would be simply over worked.
Bought a black label edition from SD 6 and a half years ago for $380. I've been using as a daily driver on my desktop for that long, it's one of my favorite purchases from this site that I can't recommend enough. Still works as it did day 1.
Went ahead and got this one for laptop use and as a backup. Hopefully it's as good as the BL edition and lasts me another half decade plus.

Come back and tell if you like this one better than the black label edition. I have this one but still keep eyeing the black label edition.
I agree. I don't know of any balance issues on mine, and I'd think i'd know. It's rather heavy and immobile though. I try to use it on my bed with laptop and it's cumbersome to my right, using u0p bed real estate. I might mount it to my bedpost. heh.
Sound is great. And have you read the description of this product? They have a marketing genius write that stuff. Gave me a massive audio-nerd boner reading it.
I'm new to DACS. I figured go big at half price for your first reference model and I won't do many incremental costly upgrades.
Now I'm trying to figure out the smallest best DAC for my phone.
good unit when it came out years ago in 2020. There are so many other comparable (or better) units out there i would definitely shop around. For example the newly released Fiio Q15 is better in every way and on sale for ~$350 (u get hardware EQ, more power, balanced, desktop mode etc etc) . Or the xduo bal2 variant around the same price or the shanling h5? i think its called... that $400 off "sale" is imo deceiving
Same question. Is there a "flat" response like the mojo 2
That's a tall order. The Mojo2 would be tough to beat. If you can find a UK store that will ship to the US then you'll save a boatload. Retail there is way lower and they'll deduct the VAT from the price. LMK if you track one down. I tried a few places with no luck.

they are having a cyber attack for the last 12 hrs, so give it a few and it should be fixed!
