Any thoughts on how this compares to the other Macbook deals today? My wife needs a new one, but only uses it for web based work.

The 15 inch M2 MacBook Air is probably a better fit — larger screen for a lightweight body, good battery life, etc.

Deal looks good but, buying a laptop (especially refurbished through ebay), not so much...

My thoughts too.. was really hoping that the 15 inch air price would drop to 1 K for Black Friday to bite .. oh well

I got this for about 1650 about 1.5 years ago brand new. Seems kinda high actually for a refurb that's 2 gens behind.

Where do you see a 14 inch pro for $1000 at costco, the 13 inch is not even worthy of the pro label and is very different from the one OP posted

M1 MacBook Air for $750 or less sounds ideal for basic web browsing/work.

If you have a microcenter nearby, get the cert-preowned one for $1200. People are saying they are very close to bnib and come from apple directly. I was ready to buy until I tried it in store and found out how poor the display response time was on the m1 models, now holding out for an m2 model with much improved (but still slow) response time. Most people probably won't notice but man, I did not expect it to be as low as it is. This thing checked all the boxes for me but this small detail

Detail is mostly glazed over and most people don't notice unless they go looking for it, I don't think there were any other changes. Notebookcheck and rtings has in depth testing of them, only two sites I trust for laptop reviews

Another thing I am waiting for the M2 pro model on is the HDMI 2.1 since my main monitor is a 4K 120HZ OLED which doesn't do displayport. M2 pro models also i think have are a bit better in both performance and battery than M1 Pro, and almost exactly the same performance as the M3 Pro. Really the sweet spot of models imo. Waiting for one to get to $1500 or less.
