Ordered two sets from Amazon and both boxes arrived ripped, beat up and bulging in the centers. Opened them up and there were sockets and broken tray fragments all over the place. 5 out of 6 trays were broken and I was missing two sockets in one set and 4 sockets and an extension in the other. I would make one good set and return the other, but they trays are unusable.

This seems like a great deal. Ordered the amazon link so we'll see, but I had recently bought an 11 piece husky mm imoact socket set for $35, and a 3 piece husky 144 tooth ratchet set for $45. If this set is good I'll end up returning those I think and aaving a few bucks. I'm going to put the trays in my big toolbox so don't care if this comes with one.

The ToughSystem box that this normally comes with is $60 on its own. Sounds like someone down the line is capitalizing on it, selling the box and tools separately. Not that great of a deal.

It's an outstanding deal if you need a full range socket set. Not sure you could find a better deal on a decent brand.

But if you're just collecting tools and already have socket sets, then sure, it's not that slick.

The case is currently $60 and goes for that at the lowest historically on amazon.


I think I'll pass on this because I have the toughcase and it isn't convenient "grabbing my socket set" size, it's a lug. So even if I did buy another one, that kinda sucks.

Plus the option of buying the case for $60 brings the total to around $130. I figure that's a good deal but not as amazing as this price seemed at first. I can get the costco set in the hand carrying case for around $80 when it goes on sale.

Keep in mind the costco set is not equivalent, it definitely lacks the larger socket sizes this set has, this is a better set.

If I had no tools and I needed a full set, I would get this and buy the case. If I just needed tools for the best price and didn't mind having an unorganized pile of sockets in a cardboard box in the garage... I would buy this. lol
The full set on Home Depot actually went down to 150 a couple months ago as well.

I'll be annoyed if this comes with a box. I just want the tools and trays. I was looking for Allen wrenches and this popped up. Couldn't resist the other 200 tools for an extra 40 bucks!

This set is sold by CPO Outlets through Ebay. One of the only two reviews for this set on the CPO Outlets website claims they only received a tool box with nothing inside. The review is from 2021 and Ebay will refund you if the listing is wrong, but if it's too good to be true...
