I've personally never had a problem with the $3 box cutter's you can get anywhere. A razor blade is a razor blade IMO and the box cutter is just a blade holder!

I've had multiple problems with harbor freight ones($1-$3). After a while the lock stopped holding the blade, sometimes it wouldn't even fold. I still get the HF ones for $1 but I think it's always good to have a really good quality box cutter.
