I ordered 4 for my NAS the last time WD had a sale. One drive was DOA. It took me hours to prove it to WD that it was dead (you need to be able to plug it into a desktop computer, not a laptop, and run their software), and then it took WD weeks to replace it (with zero communication). They replaced it, a brand new DOA drive RMA'd within 2 days of receipt, with a refurbished unit and just said it was their policy. Buyer beware.

Did I miss all the 16TB-18TB Hard Drive deal since I don't remember seeing any. So is this the only deal for bigger hard drive since the start of BF shopping season?

No, there have been ones for 10 TB, 16 TB, 18 TB (shucked), 20 TB like this one, etc.

Synology official link says not compatible, but there is a source on Youtube that says they do work with Synology. I just don't know if they are fully compatible and don't give an error message.

Most sucked. Only the $200 for 16TB and 18 TB shucked were the good deals. The 14TB for $150 was the best one from price per TB ratio. I'm still on the fence of going with these 20TB or keeping the 16TB seagates.

For people that has bad experience with Seagate drive, so not counting any Seagate deal and not causing shucked deal, sounds like there is no big internal desktop hard drive (like for WD drive) that is on sale other than this one....

Has anybody received shipping notification for anything purchased at WD over the weekend?

They are probably swamped but I'm still waiting on a 18tb mybook to ship

Had to shuck but 18TB for $200 from Best Buy just the other week.

I have them installed in my NAS now and did a full pre-clear, write, read test on them without any issues and all the other drives I have in my nas were also WD externals.

My older NAS has drives over 5 years old without any issues at all.
So you can absolutly save more if you are willing to put in a bit of work for it, but the nice thing here is no extra work and warranty support.

By now I have saved enough that should a drive be bad buying a new one is still cheaper than buying direct drives.
Are you using them 24*7? I had bad experience of drives failing within 1 year though mine had seeding activity going on

I grabbed two 16tb Ironwolf Pros from B&H for $200 per.. good enough for me. Good luck guys
I missed out on that deal. It was a much better price per TB and it would have doubled my NAS drive space (I have two 8TB drives in Raid 1)

I got mine 5 hours ago for the 18 TB essentials I ordered on Friday. I tried to cancel on Saturday, and they wouldn't let me.

I'm just not sure that shucking is worth it like it has been in the past. I just scored 16 TB IronWolf Pros for the same price as some 18 TB Easystores. The IronWolf has a 5 year warranty instead of the 2 year warranty and is a known quality with a spec sheet. Not sure the extra 2 TB is worth the warranty loss or questionable drive quality.
There is no warranty if you shuck a drive. That 2 yr warranty is voided because you opened and tampered the product. People here thinks they got a better deal because they shucked a portable drive but they don't realize they have no warranty at all.
