My last classic vibe 70's was their jazz, I bought it after seeing it in the muscle shoals documentary — hanging in the studio and being used on tracks. Good enough for Fame Studios, good enough for me
Still, a fun little platform to mod on, especially at these prices. Got her plek'd, heavyweight Gotoh bridge, new tuners, and EMG-X pickups… threw my 45-105 of Dean Markley Blue Steel on her and she's a treat to play.
Really dig Squier's Classic Vibe 70's basses… I have $7-8k Spectors, Elricks, Ball Family Reserve basses etc. but these things punch way above their weight and would rock these on stage and studio any day. Thanks again for keeping the bass players in the goods Iconian
Ps on a side note for bass players or those wanting to learn and pick up the instrument — if you miss this deal, the Indio Jazz Bass from Monoprice is fantastic too, I got no sharp frets, nice neck, great setup, strings and pickups plus the padded bag. Gotta dig it

Also, the Classic Vibe does NOT need new tuners, new pickups, or a needlessly overweight bridge that does absolutely nothing for tone or sustain (this has been proven). It's just throwing away money to not leave a Classic Vibe stock.
As for this deal, it is amazing. I bought the Late 60s Classic Vibe Jazz Bass last year direct from Fender for $239, and it is a better bass and certainly better looking. But this is a great price for an overweight P-Bass.
